An X-men vibe?

Did anyone else pick up on an "X-Men" vibe in the Heroes storyline this last week. Linderman and Mrs. Petrelli seem to me a LOT like Magneto and the Brotherhood of Mutants, nuclear guy (can't remember his name) is feeling more and more like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. The company's tracking system run by Linderman is bringing to mind Magneto's attempt to get control of Cerebro in the X-Men movie to be able to ID all mutants and later, to use that info to destroy all Humans. I know that Stan Lee is one of the creators of Heroes. If I'm right, expect the "genocide" in the trailer to be a concentration camp or mass murder of all non-heroes. Anyone else pick up on this?

Yes I have been talking about that with people. The idea of getting Nathan into the white house to give heroes more power is very much like x men. I think the shows creators will have to be careful not to make it too similar or people will lose interest.

I agree. I hope they don't move away from some of the uniqeness of the show. It's got to be hard to keep it interesting and different from so much of what's gone before it.

I am a big superhero comics fan, maybe because of that, Heroes is one of my favorites series, in many ways it ressembles to a comic book, from the main theme of the series, to the kind of narrative, is very comics like. Definitely i find some similarities with x-men comics an movie not so much in the characters, especially in the storylines, other comics that come to my mind when watching Heroes are Rising Stars and the classic watchmen.

Yes the Heroes seem like the Xmen. Both of them are mutated into something superhuman with unique abilities not commom to humans. However I think that in every story most especially hero stories, there will always be a hot headed hero (nuclear guy), a good hearted hero, a somewhat evil villain trying to control everyone so this is fairly normal for me.

yeah i guess there is a bit of a similarity there lol. but if you think about how influential the Xmen comics have been in our culture (via either the comic itself or the movies) its seems that any show that involves characters with superhuman "powers" would remind us of the Xmen. but any good storyline has its good and bad sides and their "entourage" that follows them. i didnt know that Stan lee is one of the creators of Heroes..where did you hear this?

Stan Lee was listed in the Credits the one time I actually watched them (not much for credits, you know). I'm not sure his exact title.

OOOOOOOPS!!! Stan Lee was in the credits for a cameo appearance in the "Unexpected" episode. He was the bus driver on the bus Hiro was boarding. Sorry for the mis-info!

Funny you said that...I heard someone else make the same comment Monday night when I was watching the episode you are refering to. :) I don't know if I agree with you on the way they will approach the genocide issue. In the trailer they show Mohinder holding a syringe. ??? I don't know what that means, but thought I would mention it. I thought that Stan Lee had some part in Heroes also, but I see where you recanted your statement. Do you really think that the outcome of Heroes will be a copycat of another comic? Has the story line been reminiscent of other comic stories already?

Heroes really has very common with X-Men, many of being able them and the heroes if they are similar whit the mutants.
