LG RH7832W - Playing Xvid or DivX fails to play correctly

Hi I have an LG RH7832W dvd player that I have been trying to get play DivX or Xvid files. The player starts the files, but the picture under Divx has ghosting images so is unwatchable. Under Xvid, the player only plays about 45 seconds fine, then takes you back to the selection screen to choose which file you want to watch. I am not sure if the codec used to create the divx/xvid files are too advanced for the player?? as the manual is silent on the matter. I also don't know what firmware is on the player too??? or where to pick the latest firmware.. Any help much appreciated. Kiranx
