I have a 10 month old son. He's so active. He crawls all the time. He has a lot of activities during the day. He sleeps once at daytime. When night time comes, my son refuses to sleep. He cries when it's time for him to sleep. It's as if he wants to play all the time even until night time. but I already want to sleep because I'm tired. please help me. Is there a technique on how to make infants sleep in this case? what can you suggest? thanks a lot.

You need to establish a routine for your child. At 10 months, he should be going to sleep when you put him down. Start and continue without deviating from the schedule that you make. You might give him his bath, cuddle and read a book and then give him his last bottle for the night. After that, lay him down and tell him night-night. Let him cry. Go into his room after 5 minutes, lay him back down and tell him night-night and walk out again. This may take hours the first night, but do it again the next night and the next. After a bit, he will realize that night time is for sleeping. If you deviate from the routine at all, you will have the same problem all over again.

If its not too cold at the place you stay and if its safe enough, take him for walk in his stroller or carry him around downstairs for 10 minutes or so. I have personally experienced that kids immediately fall asleep when you take them out in fresh air at bedtime.

At 10 months they are already clever and able to judge action and reaction. So when it is time for sleep he needs to be 'wound down' like a clock and have a quiet half hour with mummy after bath time, having a cuddle and reading a book or singing lullabyes. If he then cries, you have to firm and let him know that crying won't get him up again. It is hard for the first few days but he will learn quick enough that when you say it is time for bed, it really is time for bed. Oh, you are so lucky to have a beautiful son and all those exciting years ahead of you. Ok, some ups and downs, but wonderful years none the less.

i actually have two ten month old twins they usually wear there selves out with all the crawling around they do during the day, but on nights where they are sleepy but are fighting there sleep (my babies love to sleep on there stomach no matter how much you put them on there back they roll over) so i lay them on there stomach and you gently hold their thighs so the rest of the leg is free to move and pat them on the back they usually fall asleep within 10-30 mins of doing that, and i also turn off all the lights because this way they know it is time to go to sleep, and sometimes if that doesnt work i just hold them because sometimes all they want to do is fall asleep on my chest and then i put them down.
