2007-04-27 Toronto Blue Jays (Towers) vs. Texas Rangers (Tejada)

The Jays are on a high right now, and hope that nothing can stop them. Towers seems to only do well when there is pressure on him (so I was kind of hoping that he'd pitch yesterday, but there's no way Burnett should miss a start). Personally, I would have skipped Towers and gone right to Chacin with the surprise off-day, not because it's Towers, but because he's the #5 guy. Either way, that is the matchup and I think the Jays have the edge. This matchup will feature Frank Catalanatto's return to Toronto, and a Texas Pitcher who's never faced the Jays. I give the Jays a 70% chance of victory tonight and the hope that they will win at least 3 of the 4 games in this home-stand before heading to Cleveland. What are your thoughts on the game?

Well i was kind of skeptical going in but after only a few minutes I'm become very, very and yes once again in caps, VERY impressed with the way Towers is pitching. (The Texas pitcher is also quite good so far.) But there's plenty of time left yet for Towers to disappoint us, but here's to hoping he doesn't decide that'd be a good idea.

One bad inning spoils the start... Personally, I think Towers can only pitch under pressure. I was really hoping he'd face the Yankees. I think his pressure right now is his short leash.
