How do you stay mentally alert all day and night?

Bunny can't think anymore! - For days, bunny can't seems to think straight and is slowly losing her focus.

For years, I have been working like there was no tomorrow. I work from sunrise to the next sunrise, LOL! Just kidding. Admittedly, it is no easy task to handle everything. All too often, I was engulfed by a myriad of useless details and lose focus. Despite it all, I'm still amazed that I have my brain intact and in one piece. There will be times though that I can't sustain the focus and mental effort needed to do mylotting anymore. In times like this, how do you manage to stay mentally alert? Have you ever felt that there's nothing inside our brain anymore? Have you tried to do something to revved up your brain power again? Do share your thoughts. I have wrote an article about this topic. You might like to drop a visit and see how it can help you. http://hubpages.com/hub/Engage_Your_Brain

You are protected by such much fur, surely your brain will be kept intact. :P If you feel you are not able to be alert, it is likely that you are not getting enough rest. So I would go take some rest and recharge my battery.

Coffee is definitely my best friend when I need to stay awake for something. It's not good to constantly be on the go bunny. You need to slow down and relax a little or you will just run yourself down and get exhausted. I don't want to see bunny sick. Please take care bunny!

Thanks for the concern, purple. As you can see, I was a little invisible this past few days. I'm just starting to comment back here and this thread is already 4 days old. I'm trying to put my brain back in shape again. Hopefully, it will start to rev up in the coming days.

Hi Charms, hopefully being invisible for a few days meant that you took some time to relax, it sounded like you needed it.

Ah, yes, gabs dear, that's how my mind is working too. There seems to be a lot of things that I needed to remember, to do, to work on. I'm just tired of doing it all alone.

Well, when it comes to mylot whenever I feel that my brain is to dizzy and drained I usually log out and sleep ..but usually I'm out of mylot before or after 3am...cause by that time I'm really sleepy. But in other stuff... if its really important and need to be finished even if it means making the night become day, I usually drink cold coffee and as much as possible with ice cause this can make me going.. my last resort would be drinking lipovitan.

I need to give my brain a boost and so I will definitely read your article. I could do with a kick in the brain to jump start it because with missing the Husband it has gone all mushy. I really want to change my way of thinking and find ways on improving myself and becoming a better person.

hi charms. actually i dont require much boost to keep me alert at office from 9 to 6 or 7pm as the work and officers always keep me busy going through lot of paper work. its like 'be quick cha cha cha next one on hold'. so even if i want my brain to be unalert its no way. after going home you know how alert a parent needs to be. its like playing Sudoku.

LOL, Sudoku is certainly a good game to sharpen our brain. Being a parent, we can't afford to shut down our brain even for a second. My brain is still working even while sleeping.

I've always heard that the old wives sayings were the best, such as: Get plenty of sleep and exercize, take long walks, eat plenty of fruits and vegatables, drink plenty of water, get out and enjoy nature and fresh air and give your brain a rest by stop thinking, and let some soothing music send you to another cosmos, ( at least for a little while )!!!

Wow i do not think its a good think to stay mentally alert all day and night. I always rest my brain as i believe in rejuvenating it for the next day. That is why sleep is essential and a necessity for human to relieve the brain. Once you stay mentally alert all day and night, to me it indicates that a potential problem is bothering you or you are under stress to meet up with a certain obligation.

When i have loads of work to do. To be mentally alert all day and night i drink coffee so i won't feel sleepy and i also drink Lipovitan to boost my energy to a higher notch. It works!

LOL, I better try that lipovitan. I only limit myself to 2 cups of coffee a day. :)

Oh, but right now i am avoiding Lipovitan because i might be addicted in using it. As much as possible now, i want to have good sleep so that i can work well. And because i become used to it everytime i have more things to do i always look for it. Sign of addiction maybe? but im avoiding it now.

Take time periodically during your day to do stretch exercises or even deep-breathing exercises at your desk. Also, drink fresh water & if you get really tired, go splash cold water on your face & the back of your neck. I also get up and walk on two 15-minute breaks during the day. In addition, take a lunch break. Don't eat too much, maybe something light like a tuna salad & piece of fruit. I drink Lipton's diet peach tea that has no caffeine. It's refreshing, has no harmful items in it or you can also try Snapple drinks. They are delicious for lunch. Take a short walk after you eat. Go out and get some fresh air, if weather permits. This is how I make myself comfortable after working long on mylot lolz.

Ahhh, I will try that snapple drinks you are mentioning. I can't be as active as you here at mylot though.

Yes, i agree with you. We shoule be mentally alert all the time. But we can't be mentally alert 24/7. Why? tobe able to be alert, the body should rest. we need rest so that we can regain the energy lost and this will boost our body and mind to be alert. Lack of sleep and lack of rest makes us restless and the different system of the body will not function well. Rest and sleep will keep us alert and watchful when we are awake. Stress keeps us down always. So my advise, eat lot of good food and rest 6 to 8 hours a day. Goodluck!

Hi, Charms. Interesting article you have there. I admit, sometimes I am so tired I really cannot think straight anymore, in which case, I feel that I need the rest and will just sleep rather than respond here to mylot :). My doggie avatar has enough wrinkles as it is :).

LOL, ethanmama. Try to stretch your face a little more. We don't want to have those wrinkles yet.

I use to get this way when i was working, however i have taken a break from working so i no longer get this way.Sometimes when you work hard and have all this going on in your life, the brain just shuts down for a minute, you are working harder than your brain can catch up.The brain is like a computer and when you cram a lot into it,it jams sometimes..Its called a brain serge, and thats because you are multitasking..I usually just sit down, crab a cup of coffee and let my mind take a break..
