hello everybody..so how much do you think our world will change in the next 20 years??are the scientist right about water being scarce by 2020??me as a hunter i have seen lakes, ponds dissappearing all over minnesota, you can't even launch a boat in some lakes because the water levels are so low.how long do we have left till the tear above chile opens up completely?how many species are going to dissapear in the next 20 years? Is man the main cause of global warming because of greed? Can we stop global warming or do you think it is too late to reverse the damages?will there be a florida, islands in twenty years or will they be under the ocean?are we on the verge of our own distruction??Will stronger storms get even stronger by 2020?what will happen to us if we get extreme droughts year after year..won't the trees and grass start dieing that protect us from so much and provide us with air and produce so much for us all??what kind of world are we making for our future kids?what kind of world do you think it will be by 2020?are we all doomed?is the world spirallying on a downward trend?what do you think?lets hear your voice on this important issue..thank you all..

I share the same concerns as you do. . I am worried for our future generation. . I believe that the destruction to Mother Earth will be felt by the next generation, not in our lifetime. . but we have to be responsible for whatever happens to the future of our Earth. Man's activities of illegal logging, overfishing, pollution, irresponsible garbage disposal, and so many abuse to the environment will soon or have already got back on us through freak weather conditions. I learned that the ice glaciers in antartica and in north pole are slowly melting, threatening the survival of polar bears and other animals. How many more tornadoes, tsunamis, earthquakes do we have to suffer as a result of man's irresponsible activities causing destruction to our already depleting natural resources? I am not so confident that we can totally reverse the situtation since what we see is widespread apathy/indifference over the crisis. We can only do much in our little ways like tree planting and waste segregation and campaign for a cleaner, greener environment. I hope that the more that we discuss this issue, the more people will be concerned and START to do something concrete in their own little ways.

I think it is a very serious issue and far too many people are not at all concerned about it. We have to find other ways to create clean fuel. People still burn trash and think that it is an "OK" thing to do. I think that now we have made such an effect on the delicate balance that who knows if we can ever correct it. But we need to start like yesterday. Al Gore made a movie (oh I cant think of the name now) We are killing our planet and something has got to give. The USA is doing most of the damage and it needs to stop. We need to do something now so my Great grand kids will be able to live a good life. It really doesn't seem to be a concern of Mr Bush.

First off, welcome to myLot - I hope you have fun here, I do! Global Warming is a matter of 1 degree C here or there! The chages we think we are seeing are no more than the normal cycles of the weather. when they say 'it is the warmest since 1850' say to yourself 'what did they do in the world then to stop global warming for 157 years?' Please get this whole thing in perspective!! OK, there is more solar activity at the moment, the sun goes through cycles like that - there is nothing we can do about it. Sh*t happens! Nature will adapt as it has done for millions of years. Relax!

I'm originally from Australia where green and recycling etc is important, but I do notice the US is trying to be greener by using less coal for electricity generation....for instance, in Palo Alto where Im living, 30% of the pwer comes from windmills. I saw them myself when we were driving in the country when moving house. There are also the hybrid cars and the govt is going to give tax refunds for ppl who purchase them this year (I think about $3000 rebatable tax) I hope maybe one day we can use sugar cane derived fuel too like they do in S Amer. One day lol. Oh and one day soon his century coal will run out
