Has a mylot friend made a beneficial change in your life?

I was at a very low point in my life when I became a mylotter. Somehow, I had the good fortune of crossing paths with a very kind-hearted mylot friend who turned me on to Thich Nhat Hanh (you know who you are!!!). Have you ever been so lucky? How has a mylot friend made a positive change in your life?

I have read one or two of his books. I can't say for sure if being here has made a significant positive change in my life. There are a lot of people with more problems than I have, so in that respect it is easy to appreciate what I have. There are a lot of sincere people on this site and many who are excellent at expressing themselves. Reading some other viewpoints is always enlightening. I don't know everything and sometimes it is refreshing to hear other opinions. When it comes to opinion and feelings, no one is right and no one is wrong. I hope you are making a quick recovery from your low point. Good fortune is always around the corner, as you have demonstrated.

Thanks for your kind wishes. I'm no longer at a low point; I'm actually at a very good point in my life. It's all a matter of putting things into perspective and giving attention to what most deserves it, right?

Fortunately I rarely reach a low point in my life so I can't say that anyone here has made a beneficial change in my life. That said, I would like to say that on many occasions in reading responses on others' postings, as well as some of mine), I have laughed and been moved by many postings that have made my day. I have also learned new things and changed my point of view of a few topics. I must admit however that the profound discussions that I found when I first arrived are few and far between but I keep hoping that they will soon return. +

I spend most of my time with my Dad who is 86 and has Alzheimer's. He has gotten to a point where English seems to be his second or third language. So I don't get many interesting conversations in my real-world life. It's really nice to have people show an interest in my opinion, and appreciate my comments. That gives me quite a lift. Maybe it keeps my brain from seizing up, to have new subjects of interest. Mylot is like carrying on a number of dangling conversations, all at the same time, all on different subjects. Frequently, I am eager to see what someone has responded, and what new subjects have come up. So I would say that having people appreciate me has made a positive change in my life.

my dear friend, first of all I want to tell you that I am very happy to read you again here..you have been missed. am happy to see that mylot helped you so much. and if I got it right, you're telling us that you have met a very special person here. I am happy happy for you and I wish you all the best in this new experience. I met with many special people, too. Actually, all the people who wrote to me or who I replied to were nice and polite, but some I call my friends and they are very close to my heart now. So this is sure a beneficial change in my life coming from mylot and a friend is always a good change have a great day
