We all know about what is happening in Irak and Afghanistan. I was exposed for years to the effects of war in the Balkans. I have seen thousands of people suffering. Now I am exposed to the war and conflict in Darfur. And see milions of people suffering. My job is to try to help them, at least some of them. And I wonder. Why do we always have wars? Why does it not stop? What do you think?

hI THERE FRIEND: I AM A FRIEND FROM THE PHILIPPINES AND HAVE BEEN CONCERNED AS MUCH WITH THE WARS AND ALL RUMORS OF WARS. WONDER WHY PEOPLE ARE SO COLD BLOODED TO KILL THEIR THEIR FELLOW HUMANS. FROM THE DAILY NEWS SPECIALLY IN IRAQ, WHERE THERE ARE SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE KILLED EVERYDAY, I AM THINKING HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE LEFT OUT OF THESE DAILY MUTINY? BUT PART OF THE ANSWER LIES FROM SOME PHRASES OF MY AWARD WINNING ORATION FROM A HIGH SCHOOL THAT QUOTE THIS WAY" IF SOMEONE WERE TO ASKED ME HOW I MAY DIAGNOSE THE THOUSAND AND ONE ILLS, TO PRESCRIBED A CERTAIN CURE OF THE PAST, AND THE ILLS OF THE STAMINA OF THE WORLD TODAY, I WOULD STAND WITH ALL THE COURAGE AND CONFIDENCE OF YOUTH AND PRONOUNCE JUST THREE WORDS, "GOD AND COUNTRY" GOD AND COUNTRY REPRESENTS THE ULTIMATE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS. WE CANNOT AND MUST NOT DIVORCE ONE FROM THE OTHER IF THE HARMONY BETWEEN AND NATION AND AMONG MEN IS TO BE MAINTANIED. PARTLY MAYBE THERE ARE SOLUTIONS IF PEOLE ARE GOD FEARING AND LOVE THEIR COUNTRY. ELLEN PHILIPPINES

I am thinking, war comes about when one country is feeling insecure about another country and vice versa - for example - North Korea is feeling insecure about the u.s. so they are developing nuclear weapons to protect themselves - this leads to the u.s. being insecure about north korea - eventually there may be a larger conflict to come. Of course, we all know that the u.s. went to Iraq for oil as well as maintain a base in the middle east just like when they went to war against communism to keep the price of coffee low. Other countries - there are much more complicated conflicts over land, independence, border disputes, ethnic disputes, etc.
