What do you put on when you go out on a hot sunny day ?

Just looking through the window I could make out how scorching hot it is outside. I couldn’t just stare outside for more than a minute even. Now to go to my class or not to go? Anyway I got go as I cant miss my class, its important and also have some other appointments to finish up. So I would just wear my casual jean and half sleeve cotton shirt. And I make sure I am carrying my sun glasses and chilled mineral water bottle to quench my thirst whenever I feel like. Now I could add on some sunscreen lotion or sort to protect myself from the heat but that’s something I just don’t like it. So what about you? What do you do to protect your self from the scorching heat when you go out ? or you just avoid going out and stay in your AC room without bothering yourself in the heat?

I love to go out in the freshair as much as possible! If it is very sunny I always take some protection with me, sun cream, maybe have a lightweight white cardigan with me. If it is too warm, I might nip into a shop or something, just to make most of the coolness, but then go back out and walk a bit more Lynn-Marie

When going out in such heaty killing summer, make it a point to wear something which is loose and if possible, wear cotton. Try to avoid any cosmetics and drink as much water as you can when in shade. Try avoinding dark colors, take a cap or a scarf to avoid direct heat on your head. And if possible, avoid direct sun or the sfternoon hours, finish your work a bit earlier, or a bit late so that you can take care of yourself, Remember prevention is better than cure.

yes, it is true that the scorching sun is dangerous to our health. we have to protect ourselves from getting its damaging effects by doing everything that we can so as to be not too exposed to the heat.

Well we don't have that problem here in Toronto yet...it is wet and raining today...yuck. However...it can get really hot here in the summer too...and humid. I usually wear shorts and a tank top....sunscreen etc. I always carry bottled water with me on really hot days when I have to go out....and I leave it in the freezer and put some ice in the bottle too...so that is stays colder longer....

when its and dry it seems to be manageable with some sunscreen lotion etc. but when humid thats really painful with lots of perspiration and any amount of chilled water doesnt seem to work sometimes. we face that period in our place in july. dont feel like leaving the AC room.

is it that you dont require different clothing for various seasons? here in our place we need different clothing like for winters one cant go without the woolen wear. if your place cool throughout the year then perhaps you dont need different clothing for seasons.

when you have a baby its really tough to go out. we faced a lot of problem when we had to go last year on vacation. the kid was always uncoftable and crying that made the entire trip really sad. from then we decided not to move out untill he grew older.

I will find a comfortable cotton outfit. bring with me my sunglasses and the umbrella is something that i must not forget. i will have to have at least two handkerchiefs and one handtowel. a bottle of water will also come in handy.

Whenever I have an errand to do, I make sure to wrap everything up before noon time. The sun is hottest in the early afternoon. It seems my head will turned hot at the sight of the heat. I can't stand the sun scorching on my skin either. I always turned the air conditioner to full blast whenever I got home. I feel the heat had sucked me out completely and some cool air is needed.

thats good way if you can finish up your jobs before noon. after noon its just hard to move out unless theres compulsion.

a wide brimmed hat, sun glasses that fit over my prescription glasses (I really should get prescription sun glasses though) a long sleeved light weight shirt - like cotton gauze material, usually over top of a tee shirt - unbuttoned, a long cotton skirt, sandals or clogs without socks.

a hat is a must on a sunny day. photogrey extra lenses for prescription glasses is best as they change their color when you going out on a sunny day.

I am used to the sun already. Used to it in the sense that I won't fret about going out just because it might be hot. It is not that bad in Singapore - not as bad as e.g. the desert - we don't need any protection from the sun.

lucky that you have moderate climate and dont need much protection. in india temperature is already soring high day by day.

I avoided going out if possible. If I have no choice, I will be in casuals and go under shelter if possible. I don't wear sunglasses as I wear spec and the lens is photogrey, in that it turns dark under the sun. Defintely a water bottle will accompany me :P

A pajama, a vest, sneakers and dark large sun glasses would suit a hot sunny day! In Africa, it would amaze you how these guys can show up in a hot sunny day dressed in a black suit, tie and the sweat is allover but they still wont take of their coats-the white men taught us how to put on coats but they never warned us we should put them off on hot days! LOL

Hi totalearnings. Firstly if the weather is that hot, I would definetly rub down with sun screen, grab a cap or sun hat. Wear appropriate clothes for the hot weather, and arm myself with lots of H2O
