Global Warming What Can We Do?

Air Pollution - The image you see is an example of one of the industries that releases toxic gases that destroys our ozone layer that protect us from ultraviolet rays from the sun.

It's been televise everywhere, posted in newspapers, websites and we are been warn about it. But sad to say that even though that we are been warn we still keep doing what we are doing before. We are still polluting our air and surroundings with toxics that could kill a living existence in this planet. The world that we are leaving is now deteriorating and we humans are responsible of it because of our machines and industries that releases toxics and hazardous gases. I think its about time that we here in myloters should be concerned about this and should act on how we could help slowdown the destruction of earth. What we learn here must be implemented in our own places and tell others about it. Your valuable ideas will be appreciated here. Please post here of what you could contribute to prevent it from getting worst.

well, i also concern with those global warming issues but i believe there are many little things we can do if we do really care about it.if we really try we can do things to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases that we put into the atmosphere. many greenhouse gases come from things we do everyday.try to save electricity, use bike, bus or walk are just one of the examples..buy recyclable products, plant trees, many more if we do really concern about it :)

The hard thing is we are already use to those things like electricity, vehicles and other things that we use everyday. Its like a habit that is hard to stop. But I am still hoping that things will do really change for the better of our earth. Thank your the response brand4less.

we ordinary citizens always talk about having bikes for our commuting purposes. yet the leaders of the countries that we are in are not making any visible efforts in putting up bicycle lanes. how can bicyclers go about with ease if they have to be running at pace with cars and trucks? we need bicycle lanes, please!

That's a great idea for your community. Like china most people uses bicycle as their primary transportation. I applause to these idea and I think our country should have lanes for bicycles too. Thank you

You are right we should all be concerned about this. If you live in the US, then you need to lobby your Senator or other representative to encourage the US goverment to do their part to become compliant, because they are NOT currently! I saw part of the Earth Day special that Diane Sawyer did on ABC and if you missed it, I am sure you can probably see it on the web at abc.com, where she features different ways that different countries do their part to help the earth, and go green. In your own household, you can try to use recycled products, conserve energy, water and any other resources you can conserve by using less of them, not wasting them and encouraging your family and friends to do the same. When you use less paper or recycled paper, you save trees and trees are necessary if we want to reduce global warming. When you brush your teeth, you should not leave the tap on, and this way you save gallons of water. If you turn off unnecessary lighting in your house, you save electricity. We can use less of toxic products and more natural products to help clean up our environment...there are websites with a lot of tips, I could never remember them all, just use your favorite search engine and look for things you can do. Care2.com is also a good place to visit that has a lot of tips for the environment, and there are also lots of links to petitions you can sign and letters you can have sent to US politicians to make them aware of what the public wants them to do with regard to pollution, global warming etc.

Thanks for the information Trinihd, it really gives me more idea on how I could save our mother earth on our very simple ways. I feel really sad today when I noticed that most people are not doing the necessary things to prevent further destruction. Also our corrupt leaders here in the Philippines are not doing their part eventhough they have the most comprehensive strategy but they never had implemented it successfully. All the ideas, ordinance are good but when it comes to action they really doing nothing because all of them are keeping the money under the table. I saw some good things about other countries on how they value the environment. They have strict rules when it comes to segregation of garbages. If you made a mistake in throwing anywhere your garbage then you will have to pay certain amount of money as penalty or you may go to jail to teach you a lesson and for me that's really a good way to discipline people. I admire their country so much and I wish our country will do the same way. If we protect our earth today we protect our children in the next generation. Thank You

You're welcome! You're right, it is sad when money changes hands to sell out our future safety and the health of the environment. Let's hope the situation will change before it is too late!

Its so sad to think that on the near future our children and grand children to be will be living in a very polluted environment. No trees, river and fresh air. If all of us will just work together and cooperate, we can stop this thing while their is still time. We must plant trees, clean the seas and river, do experiment to convert toxic into useful substance, and minimize air pollution. Although very impossible, but we should give it a try. I believe that not all that we face will change but nothing changes until we face it. Not for us but to our children and grandchildren to be.

I wish that we had a time machine to turn things back. I hope that industries take it seriously now.

we have been receiving so much inputs to this effect. planting trees and plants will greatly help; cleaning the parks, the streets, the oceans and the rivers of garbage especially plastics; using solar power and wind energy instead of fossil fuels and gasoline and their by producs; change the car filters regularly; have a change oil for cars and motor vehicles per schedule; do not be wasteful of energy consumptions; there are so many more still. but we prefer others to do it and then we exempt ourselves from doing our part of the bargain. if everyone has this attitude, it will bring us nowhere.

Yes! indeed Stevevai. We must take action together to fight this destruction. With our little community here in Mylot we can be able to enlighten up the minds of those people who are not aware of it. When they do, they will also share this to others and others will do the same. It is critical that this issue must be known to everyone. This is for our own good and our children. I cannot let my children go out under the heat of sun exposing him to ultraviolet rays that could cause cancer and other sickness. I could not take my children to suffer because of our incompetent act.Hope that everyone will take it seriously because this is really really serious matter. The lives of everyone is at stake.

Global Warning is definitely a serious problem for all mankind. It amazes me that only few are getting their hands dirty to find solutions to this issue. We are the ones that brought this to mother earth, now we are slowly experiencing the bitter consequence of our selfish acts towards the "easy life" that everyone prefer to be in. Unless we act now??? Next thing we may be noticing??? The generations to come will suffer more than what we're suffering now.

Yes! it is true. The next generation will suffer the most of our actions today.

One of the major causes of global warming is carbon di oxide release. We can help reduce global warming, if this CO2 is converted into fuel instead of release. Many think this is impossible and not much action is on in this front. I personally feel this is possible. Co2 can be changed into methane and reused as fuel using suitable catalysts. Every petroleum refinery and petrochemical factory has the basic tech to develop this technology. We may not be able to do it for our cars, as of now. But this can be done in every thermal power plant, whether it uses gas, coal or petroleum derivative. Do you know many chemical fertiliser factories create and use methane as an intermediate, created using a different process
