Swimming muscles

I like to swim for long periods of time but I also like body building,one of my friends said that long period of swimming(1.5 to 3 hours) will make you lose muscles is that true?

No you won't lose muscle. Muscles that are developed in swimming are long and skinny. While muscles doing other activities such as skiing or skating will be thicker and bulkier. No activity causes a loss of muscle. Improper eating and inactivity will

I never heard of that. Quite the opposite, you maintain the muscle or it grows. You're more likely to be losing fat. Now if he associate fat as muscles that he's got it confused. I swim for long periods. Usually for two hrs. That's how long training sessions last for me.

well swiming will make u lose fat ,swimming is good ,u get to build up stamina ,strength in ur muscles, swiming is the best excersie for ur legs ,shoulders ,arms and abs
