For those of you who responded on my discussion last week about my sister throwing a wedding up in 4 days, THANK YOU! I did go Friday to the wedding and had a nice time. Of course, they went to the JP to get married, but it was really sweet and nice. They looked cute together and the JP was really great. We got tons of pictures and everything. I am glad it's done. I know she is still upset that she didn't get a "real" wedding, but I try to tell her that it's more about the union than the ceremony. The ceremony is nice, but you sure spend a lot of money for a very little bit of time and what is important is the union...the relationship. I hope they have a great marriage. But, thought I would share with you all that it was done and I did end up going. They had it in the afternoon so I didn't have to rearrange any schedules. :)

I am happy to hear that you went to the wedding. I totaly agree that its more about the union then having a big fancy wedding. When my husband and I got married we just had my mom (who is a notary and can wed people) marry us at my parents home. It was just my husband, me, my mom, my dad, and our kids. It was very simple and sweet.

I'm glad you went and it was not an inconvenience. It was nice that it fell so that you did not have to rearrange your schedule. It was a very fast decision and I am glad it is over. I hope they have a good marriage.

I agree. It's not about the cerimony or the show infront of friends and family, it's about the union. I used to want a big wedding until things in my family and my Sweetheart's family went totally to heck in a hand basket, and we both decided that it's not about them, it's about us!!!! We sat down and discussed our priorities, and impressing them really wasn't one of them. Tell your sister that if she wants a "real" wedding, to renew her vows in a couple of years, and have a party!

I am glad that everything went well for the bride and the groom. Glad you had a good time too. Yes, I think people spend too much money on weddings. They could use that money to make a downpayment on a new home. That is much more needed when you first get married. Thanks for the update.
