My cousin requested that she and 40-50 workmates sleep in our house

This cousin of mine is from out of town, and since their work was within our city, she begged me to allow them to sleep in our house for 1 or 2 nights! And there were over 40 of them! Of course I denied the request, saying that if she's the only one, she's very much welcome. My husband thought that it was not right, that I should have accommodated them in our little house with only 4 bedrooms.. .Was he right? Was I right? I want to hear from you. . .

Forty house guests in your house? I don't think so. You were right, he was not. Oh, wait, are you sure this wasn't an episode of The Simpsons?

Oh, it's not, it's for real, I even can't believe it. Imagine having to accommodate them, they will be all over the place because she said sleeping on the floor is alright. But what about us, and my family? Our house is not some kind of boarding house or pension house, so why should I? My cousin of course was welcome, but not the rest of her workmates! I really felt bad because my husband thought it was rude of me to turn down the request. . .but I had the final say of course.
