Yes, I have also the same feeling you have. It's very difficult and I don't give it lot's of times. I try to be fair and if the answers aren't really good, I prefer not to select a best response. But I usually rate the comments positive or negative(if they are really bad)

It is good too choose a best response because i saw in my case you earn money...someone give me two best responses in a minit and i get 0,6$...so,the person who you choose will earn, and i guess mylot want to choose the best... So,my point is even it is hard we have to do all "a la carte".. thank you for the reply, augusta

Hello, augustta,I cannot choose the best response at this moment which may be a glitch of mylot.I could do it one month ago,I also felt that it was hard to choose it as the quality of replies were so high, the others I lefe out did not mean they did not deserve for it, just because only one was available.I also feel guilty for choosing one and leave out the others.

Oh, I imagine that hard work (work? I have already heared this word before, but not so sure what is it!)is for you to choose the best respnses! You have the responsability of the well rotation of the earth, the responsability of the human genre, the responsability to don't make us crying for not having selected our best responses! I think you'll be very tired after a day thinking about what are the best responses... I imagine you don't sleeping because in your mind there are many doubts... who wrote the best responses? poor Augusta...

It is hard to choose a best response at times. Many times there are more than one that could be chosen. At the same time, I never am upset if my response isn't chosen as a best response so I feel that most people on here feel the same way.

Yes,it's pretty difficult to select the BRs at times.I read all the responses a few times and remember the numbers of the responses that appeal to me.Then I go through just those numbers. After reading them a few times I usually come up with 2 to 3 responses that I find very good.I choose my best responses from those 2 or 3 responses. If there are a few people constantly coming up in the final scan ,then I try to read their responses closely in other discussions of mine and choose their's as the best.I try very hard not to be biased everytime, lol but I agree that it's not easy at all, especially with quality responses following you .:-) A good problem to have indeed.

lol I will tell you the exact reason I am waiting to make the post.My internet has been crappy over the last couple of days and there are people who feel bad when their responses don't get commented on,including me :-P So, I am waiting for the net to improve so I can comment on the responses I receive.I promise to start the discussion once this is sorted out.:-) ssshhhh ,lol.

Though best response is the privilege of the poster yet i think it is a responsibility. some people chose to give best response to their friends, but it is against the spirit of best response itself. It should not be awarded to someone just because he/she is your friend nor should someone be deprived of it just because he/she has crossed swords with you somewhere else but rather it should be on merit. It should be to someone who has provided most thoughtful answer and to someone who is most helpful in understanding of the subject presented in the post. Now, merit makes it a difficult task, as sometimes there are more than one that appear to be the best. One really feel guilty if he/she chooses one and leave the other, but still we have to chose one. I don't have many discussions but the ones i have it was sometimes difficult for me to chose and it took much time to decide. i read all responses more than two times before deciding the best response just to try to make it on merit and still feel a little guilty about others, but you know we don't have choice of more than one, so we have to decide just one:-)

I will tell ya, I really dislike picking best responses also! I worry if I am going to hurt anyone's feels, if they think they had a better response. Or maybe someone may have spent a bit more time than others on this one discussion...should I give it to that person? Or how about picking the same person often that I think has the best response? More often times, I find I like the same people that respond often. Then what about if they are active? If the person is not active, do I really want to give that person the best response or a person that is active everyday because they dedicate myLot time. It is just to stressful to pick out best response...I procrastinate doing it. ha ha

I think a best response should be chosen for that reason, not wether or not a person is able to spend a lot of time here in mylot. Some people have little spare time, but do still make quality responses and discussions in what luittle time they have in here.

I was not meaning people that do not spend as much time. Only that if someone has not been to myLot for a couple of months, it might be better to give the best response to someone that is active. Crazy1, you are a dear friend and I would never mean that one that does not have as much time as others are less deserving. Again, if they have not been to myLot in the past two to three months, one is left to wonder if they will come back.

Well, one has gotta have enough time to go through one's posts to really come up with a very good response to pick out. I did pick out one very good response one time, but a week later, I found a yet better response. I just wished there was a way to make the amendment! lol

happens to me most of the time, too. but well, what's done is done. and we have to live with it. atleast people still love our discussions even after we already picked the best response. hehe.

I have also found it hard to choose. I try to pick one that is closest to my own feelings, or that is VERY funny. The other day I could not choose one on a few threads, so I went down and gave it to the first person that had an actual discussion about the topic. If they spent so much time, to comment back 2 or even more times, then I think they deserve something extra. Does that make sense to you? they gave good comments also, not just one or two words. I have seen some that give it to the very first responder, I do not think that is fair, as sometimes we are not the first to see it, and we can still give the best response.

Yes it is hard to choose a best response, some times there are a lot of really good responses. I find it easier to rate responses some times, because there are so many good replies.

I agree, it can be really hard. especially when you have to choose from 100 or more responses. All you can really do is just pick the one that you think is best. I usually give it a day or two before I pick best response. Oh, thank you for the flowers, they smell so nice on my desk! Take care!!

Yes, I agree with you, I have felt guilty a couple of times while choosing the best response. But then in the end, the topic creator is the one to choose. The one which appeals more to him/her has to be chosen. If 4-5 of them are found equally appealing, I tend to bring in 2-3 criteria like more information being provided, use of valid references and the quality of language.

Actually it is easy, you just select the first one that makes you smile, frown or cry. Sometime I let a day or two to pass away before choosing the best response, on those with less response to give others a chance. I do feel guilty once in a while if I see later a response I like but that's life. First come, first serve. These is a great post.

I agree that it can be really difficult choosing a best response for a discussion. Especially if you've received a 100 or more replies to one discussion and thus you have to choose the best response from the lot of them. Reading through a 100 replies is a lot of hard work. LOL! But I make my job easier by marking the first response which I think completely answers the issue of my topic as the best response. LOL! But if ever I really feel that more than one answer deserves a best response mark, I would just mark the best one I like and just acknowledge the other ones in the comments section.

Augustta i do understand what you are talking about, i too am having a really hard time choosing my best responses, and i usually do all of them once a month. I know that others too have a problem with that, and some users, i am sure you know one of them. Lol. Decided that he is going to give medals to people that he things deserves them for their wonderful responses to his posts, this thing is working great and i do think he has a creative mind. So there are ways to feel better. Lol. But i too have the same problem.

I have an extremely hard time choosing a best response and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings at all, especially when one or more of the responses are from my friends I have made here on MyLot. I'm like you, I would like to mark them all as Best Response.

I like chosing best responses for my discussions because I have been fortunate enough to have been chosen by other members with my own responses. It is an honor to have so many responses to my discussions and yes, it is very difficult to choose just one. I always rate my responses though because I am grateful that people took the time to respond so I give something back to everyone if I can.
