Well for hypertension or BP, medicines are not solution. Do Meditation, try breathing exercise, it will help you balance and handle hypertension.

Controlling high bp is an important factor... It is important to take steps to keep your blood pressure under control. The treatment goal is blood pressure below 140/90 and lower for people with other conditions, such as diabetes and kidney disease. Adopting healthy lifestyle habits is an effective first step in both preventing and controlling high blood pressure. If lifestyle changes alone are not effective in keeping your pressure controlled, it may be necessary to add blood pressure medication

Hi Chinmay. Thats a good topic. I think u r a bengali. atleast ur name suggested so. Anyways the best way of controlling high blood pressure is by keeping yourself calm. laughter and meditation is the best cure. And offcourse ginger, garlic would also help u to some extent. Eat them raw everyday, only a bit and see the overall improvement of ur health.

There are a range of medications, depending on the B.P range and it is usual to start with the simple ones and work through them, find the most effective, at the least dose and with minimal side effects. Or work out the best combination. I take 3 different ones. Normally, in younger people B.P.of 120/80 is accepted. Older persons may find that their's is 140/100. This may be reduced by life style changes, losing weight, drinking less. But over this some medication may be necessary. Please note that B.P. varies from person to person and High B.P. can run in families - so what is high for one, might be OK for another. 1) Beta Blockers, - can slow heart rate and give lack of energy 2) Diuretics, - need to be near a toilet for first 2-3 hours each day 3) Calcium channel blocker - can slow you down, lack energy. 4) ACE inhibitor
