Adsense in your blog

I have a question for you bloggers out there: if you use Adsense in your blog, have you actually made any money (and in what time period)?
I ask this because I have seen so many blogs that use adsense (often times in very distracting and annoying ways) but it doesn't seem like they have very many readers so I can't see how they would actually be making any money at it.
I would rather have readers and not annoy them with lots of adds than make a few bucks.
Any thoughts on this?

Blogging is a very time-consuming job. One has to post at least one blog high-quality entry per day. Most people do not make money from blogging including myself. I have a photo blog and I just use it to post some of the photos I take. I post very rarely on this blog, so I have very few visitors too.
