huge moral dilemma

I have an eye condition called Kerataconus. This basically means that my cornea is cone shaped and is gradually becoming more so over time. This can be fixed with hard contact lenses although there is a constant battle between getting them to fit my eye well, in which case my vision is not great, or holding my cornea in the shape that it should be, ion which case the vision is good but they are really uncomfortable. Aparently the only sure way to get rid of this problem is with a corneal transplant. Now this is something that i am very squeamish about, i would be seeing through the eyes of a dead human. Any guidance from the informed and educated out there?

There's great success with cornea transplants now. If you would like to read some recipient profiles check out www.fleb.org/profiles.shtml Maybe get in touch with your local Lion's Club and they can probably help answer some of your questions or lead you to someone who can.. perhaps even hook you up with past recipients.. check out the page I sent you.
