What's your opinion on mylotters avatar? Do they help in getting more response?

Does the avatar on your profile helps yo get more reponse? If yes, why? What do you think makes a good avatar? Do you have any favorites?Absolutely, it helps. If I see a good avatar, especially a hot lady, a handsome young man, or a beautiful graphics I take a look at it a second time and say I want to be a friend of this guys/gals. And once you are friends, you do in your power to at least response to their discussions.
I am thinking of changing my incredible hulk avatar because it seems not a friendly one but what the heck I been here for a month now and changing it will make my old friend doesn't recognize me. Besides I like it, it makes me incredible.
I have avatar I like, the avatar of jencai, becuttieusa, everlasting, sevnthjuly and my favorite easy888. Just look at their avatar and you will see.

I wonder how many of those peope whose avatars you speak of are really dudes. I don't let the avatars influence whether or not i will look at and respond to a topic.

I like cute avatar rather than photo's avatar. I don't know why, but that just it. I like anime avatar and some beautiful graphic. And i don't think that avatar will help you to get more response. It will gain you more friends, that's true. But more response, it depends on how interesting your discussions are.

for my part, i should say that an avatar like yours catches my attention. this will make me read your entries and discussions. thus if you have some posted discussions that i come across, i will surely have time to read them then respond to those which i will be interested in.

It might for some people, but not for me. I mostly respond to my friends' discussions, then new discussions or discussions without response. I like animated avatars but most of my friends do no have these avatars and I still responded to them. By the way happy mylotting, you're on 400 posts so keep posting!

I don't think that an avatar gets you more replies and if it does then I must be real ugly as I use my own photo and do not get a lot of replies and if someone is replying to discussion based on someone's looks alone, in my opinion that makes them shallow.

That's true but as time goes on the quality of discussion of the person will have more impact. You look sweet in your avatar. Continue to keep posting quality topics and quality discussion and you'll be fine. Have a great day.

I think it matters. I noticed when I changed my avatar from a picture of me to a picture of my kid, my rating dropped from a 10 to a 9 and I got lots less responses. Now it's something new as well, and I get average responses. I think part of the problem is once people get to know your avatar when you change it, they may not realize its the same person.

It matter in the sense that you are already familiar with that avatar. Just by seeing that avatar you already know what to do, response or not response. That avatar had already a reputation to you. So it's also good to really have a catchy avatar.

i agree that an avatar helps. i noticed that, or at least think that if you have an exact same topic and discussion, but with different avatar. 1 is more appealing than the other, i'm sure that the more appealing one will get more comments, reply and feedbacks.
The other one i noticed is that, some of the discussions that the appealing avatar put on is really not as interesting either. but they get like at least 10 to 40 replies... wow...
i might try to put on a sexy lady avatar, and see what's my responds like even if i write a dull discussion. hehehe... nah~~~ i don't think i'll do that...

That's the spirit. Only1idea, would you willing to try it? Get a hot sexy lady avatar and see if you get more discussion as an experiment. I suspect you will have the same response, why? because the topics you will be posting will be the same. Unless you hire a really sexy lady to post for you. What I'm saying is it's really on the individual. How he/she present his/her self and the discussion she/he made will make the impact.

As yet I don't have an avatar .. cannot decide what I want .. so will leave it as is till I can decide. It doesn't worry me what the avatar someone has .. if I like the discussion I will reply .. if not, then I will ignore it completely. Some friends have good avatars and others are basic .. but that is them and I recognise their discussions by the avatar. I am not one who will be influenced by what the avatar is .. with regard to asking or accepting as a friend .. or even to respond to a discussion.
One day I will find an avatar I like .. then I will post it .. but till that day I will stay as I am .. just responding to discussions my friends start .. and any other discussions that might appeal to me at the time .. depending on how I feel when I am here posting that is. A person does have to feel comfortable with their avatar .. it is no good having one that you are not happy with .. it will reflect in your discussions .. and the responses that you make to others.

i think those nice and cute avatars can catch the attention of somebody. when it does, his posted discussion gets read. when the one who has read the discussion gets curious enough, then out comes a reply to it.

have you not noticed that men mylotters usually make replies to discussions posted by sexy and beautiful women mylotters based on their avatars and not to the content of the discussion. i challenge you to make a survey then you would say my generalization is true.

i think a pretty photo on the avatar (especially for girls) help in her popularity, especially in here. dudes, ask for yourselfs, if a beautiful girl is ask you, you may no answer? of course you will answer. now think in a dude, you will answer has quickly?

Avatars do jump out more than the default picture myLot shows for me, but it doesn't really matter what exactly the avatar is. In 9/10 cases though the avatar of a woman is a man anyways on the internet ;).
