What day in the week to post an auction?

I have been pondering about this for some time. Is there any days that is better to list new auctions? As most bids come at the end of an auction it would make sense to have it ending on a day with much traffic on eBay. I just started a blog and have discovered that there is slightly less traffic on Saturdays and Sundays. If it is the same with eBay it would not be smart to start a 7 day auction on those days.

I have sold on ebay for several years. I find that Sun and Monday are the best days to list. You will get more bidders if you end your auctions after 9pm in your time zone.

Thanks for that information. I will try that! It will be very hard though, since I live in Europe and most of my buyers are based in USA.

If most of your sales are in the US, set them to end in the evening California time. If it is to late in the night for you, set them to end first thing in the morning US time. Buyers will put a maximum bid on the item if they want it. I do that when I buy from overseas.

Actuall, I like to list items on Thursday Afternoon, for three days(Things that I have had good luck with and are pretty sure they are going to sell)Check completed listings for this info. That way it will end on Sunday afternoon. Typically, if the item has a "watcher" and a "bidder" there will be a bidding "war" at the end of your auction, driving your price up. If you list in the middle of the night, people are asleep, if you list in the middle of the week, people are at work when your auction ends. Good Luck.

Yes, but in the summer (warmer weather anyways) online auctions tend to be a bit slower...but i read once that you should list on sundays, that way it ends on saturday and this gives you two weekends to sell you stuff when the traffic is usually heaviest when the weather is too cold to be outside...
