If you will be given a capital to start a new business. What kind of business will you open as a first timer? Will you start small or start a big amount?

I started a very small business last year, May 25 to be exact. It is a reloading station for all cellphone users. I didn't used a very small capital since my market for my business are my neighbors. I just use the house as the location for my business. It is doing good and I hope to expand it more. But the business I would really like to have is to franchise McDonalds. It would be fun to have my own McDonalds. I get to eat their fries everyday for free.

Thanks for the response! A reloading station is nice business because you can sell celfone loads anybody using a mobile phones. But the only disadvantage is there are many reloading station everywhere..you have competitions and I think it has only small profit. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct. But in my case you are not. There are only few reloading stations in our area so I don't have to worry about competitions.

I would prefer something that I excel or knows best. That way I would know firsthand what would be the problems that will come eventually. Something about computer for me is the best ex: Internet Cafe, PC Repair and Upgrade, Computer Store, Call Center, Webdesign, etc..

pizza - Road Kill Pizza?
I had always wished to start a deli/game store. Selling deli style sandwiches beverages, pastries etc, and have various pinball & arcade video games. Also possibly books free to read would be a great idea also. I live in an area with a lot of kids/teens and know it would do well. It's just the time and money are restricted right now. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

That's a nice idea. Why don't you start a business like that. For sure the kids in your place will like that. It will surely boom.

as a first timer, i'd open an internet cafe near the new college being built near our place. this way i can have a captive audience already. i'd start small by having only 10 units of computers. services provided will be varied (computer and internet tutorial, internet services, research, games, etc). i'd even offer some part-time jobs to college students so they could earn a little. my sister has a cafeteria already, and i'd like to make use of that to serve food in the cafe plus add a little more variation. this will in turn add income to her existing business. i'd also throw in a gift shop corner within the internet cafe to sell gift ideas from small tokens and clothes we buy in our local and international travels. these are our accumulated wood carvings, hand painted cloths, trinkets etc. this is an idea by my other sister which would make my mom busy overseeing it and earn her a little income too. we already picked a place and we hope to start by june. this is actually an idea that has been brewing in my mind since december. i'd like to start small but make it bigger along the way and be sustainable within or less than a year. with my contacts i could make inexpensive options to help me out and the whole family to support me. besides, i'd be generating employment within and outside the family. :)

internet cafe - internet cafe business
Wow that's a nice business plan. You can help yourself and your family too. For sure your family will be happy for that. But I think you need a big capital for an internet cafe. Computers are a bit expensive I guess if you buy brand new pc's. I used to manage an internet cafe before and it's really fun if you really like what you are doing. By the way if you need a computer assistant or you need some employee please don't forget me. hehehe! I would like to apply!!! By the way where do you plan to open your net cafe?

i have 3 sisters who would be somewhat "in" the business with me. one owns the land and possibly the small building we would have to complement the bar and grill that she likes to have in her 400 sqm lot. another, i mentioned runs a cafeteria. my other sister is interested in getting extra income for all the typing and research jobs that we might have. for brand new computers, there's mypldt dsl and smart bro plans we looked into before which has packages for computer units and internet connection in installment plans... so it wouldn't be too difficult for initial cash outlay. :) this will be located in our hometown (tanauan city, in batangas). you are very much welcome to join... -lol-

Hi jengrin! Wow! Easy - a music business. I love music and I'm sure it is gonna be a lot of fun. When dealing with money, I would certainly be cautious and start small. Give it a test drive so to speak. Thanks and good day!

Everybody eats, so i will invest my money in the food industry. If i have a big capital then i will buy a franchise of any of the popular fastfood restaurants today. Like Mcdonalds and others, Jollibee in the Philippines etcetera, etcetera. Food, food, food yummy!

I have a business..as a first timer I put up a store, for people nowadays they choose to buy in retailer rather than a wholesale.were into crisis that's why they need a cheaper one.I wanted to start in a small and as time goes by i wanted it to be a grocery at the same time our house. No need to pay the rental and I can save a bigger amount.
