Does anyone own their name as a .com or otherwise?

I was really upset when I couldn't register my name as a .com I had to settle for .ws instead which isn't bad but I'd prefer .com What about you guys?

luckily i have registered my own name on my site www.ernanbaldomero.com i tried to register a my first name but it is no longer available.

i've also had some domains which i registered to extensions other than .com cause the .com is already taken. i had a .net and a .org before i was able to register a .com. i also wouldn't have been able to register that .com if i didn't make some changes to my original plan (i added a dash "-" on it so i can register it as a .com, because the one without a dash is already taken).
