Any real money making tips that work?!

Call me skeptical, but I have yet to see proof that someone has made over $500 to $1000 on a site. How is that possible? I've tried almost everything, if you invest, it usually dosen't work. Where is the real deal, and I'm not talking about get paid to read sites, I mean something different that works. Believe me when I say I am not rich and I'm not the one that pays for my internet service, since my husband and I are very low income my mother-in-law is the one who pays for my being online. So tell me, how and don't be rude please, but how can I make $500 to $1000 a month like some people have claimed? Without investing, because honestly I cannot afford to. I offer advertising on my site but no one seems interested. Please help with some good advice. I'd greatly appreciate it.
