man in the state of nature

What would man be like if he was stripped of everything but the bare minimum? Stripped of societal rules, learned knowledge, propriety, etc. Would he be selfish and greedy, or caring and compassionate?

Have you ever read the book, Lord of the Flies by William Golding? That book has the answers to your questions 8D Me, personally, I think mankind would revert to purely natural, animal instincts; do whatever you can to survive, and whether that is considered 'selfish,' who cares?
