other languages in mylot

should there be an interest of languages, like one for french people, or spanish, or whatever language someone wants to discuss in. i'm bilingual in french and i'll like to be able to discuss with people about french products and singers and so on. i know you are not suposed to talk in another language but what if we had an interest of it we could either talk in another language or be able to find people who are familiar with entertainers of that language. just a thought. tell me if you would be interested in something like this. maybe mylot might look into it some day.

Mmm, came up with this big, nice reply but then the system decided to eat it. Anyways, it in short came down to:
* Which languages would be selected?
*** All?
*** Most popular global languages?
*** Languages from regions most used by members?
*** User polls?
Also moderating it might be quite complicated as finding members in the languages wouldn't be that much of a problem. But good moderators might be.
Asides from that, how many users should speak a certain language before it would be worth it to be able to discuss in that language?

your right, i didn't think about how mylot would moderate it and didn't think of the extra bilingual people they would have to hire. thanks

Why not? If mylot would include latvian language, there would be a lot of latvian members. I could be moderator then, if there would be a small profit. Still, I prefer English, because it's global and almost everyone knows English. The only aspect that's negative is that mylot community will be separated into many smaller communities (every country).

I don't think so. Otherwise, imagine the mess this would be. Imagine more staff being hired just to correct one of the languages. Imagine the number of accounts created dedicated to another language. If MyLot really creates a new language, then it should be for almost all. Not only Portuguese, nor only French. Should be in German, French, Portuguese, Italian, and many others. Would require a lot of time, and the community would grow out of control.
That's just my opinion, though.

I think this would be hard to do. Mylot would have to hire alot of more moderators since they have to have people that also understands what is written - and that would cost them money.. I would love to be able to discuss in my language as well - but I realluy do not think that it is in a near future - atleast noit here at Mylot

I think that if you want to speak french you should. I am sure if you post in french the ones who speak french will answer. I think since this site is so large that there are probably other who would like to speak in their language. I only speak english but I would not be affended if there were post in other languages. I would not be able to post to them but that is still ok with me.

I am going to say what a super fantastic brilliant idea!!!
I hate it when on here I have an idea and everyone just wants to see the flaws in it. It is a super idea and with the rigt input into it it could be the thing to turn myLot around.
Well done for trying to make myLot an ever better place and with nearly 2000 responses you couldn't be a better person for the job.

It could work if myLot could handle it. I can't speak any other languages at all htough so I do not want it to happen.

i agree with you,it is difficult to response a disscussion for the country members who have a poor English.they cann't say it fluent,so don't give a good discussion in mylot.i think the members come from differnt country,maybe come from asia country,the languages of this country are differnt from English,so i hope mylot might look into differnt languages to discussion in mylot

that is a nice idea but i have to say, a bit hard to implement here at mylot.
there are just some things that doesn't come out the way you want to express them if not said in a certain language. but like others already said, mylot would have to hire lots of interpreters just so they could moderate the discussions here.
but like i said, it would be nice if mylot allows this :)

I think it's a great idea.It's also good then to improve your language in that way.But you can also have private messages in some other language then english right?

salut ça fait du bien si vous comprenez le français c'est la langue de l'art je serai honorer de discuter avec vous enfrançais j'ai remarquer que la plut part des reponses son contre pourquoi est ce que la plus part des americains ont un esprit étroit ...il faut qu'il aprénent a accepter les autre culture
