Hot Tub or Pool?

If you had a choice and you could only get one of these for your backyard, would you rather get a hot tub or a pool? I'm not really a big fan of hot tubs since I can't stay in them very long without feeling uncomfortable and woozy, but I love swimming so I'd definitely get a pool. One big enough to do laps in and to have friends over to party in.

Do you know i think I would definately get a pool but have you seen that hottub thing that you can swim in. You set the jets and you swim towards them and you are kept in a stationary place even although you are swimming. Do you understand what I mean? There is apparenly on one house in my country that has an outdoor pool and it went on sale the other day and was snapped up instantly at an absolute ridiculous price. You would think it was impossible to put in your own on your own house but I think even trying to find a couple of weeks of dry weather to have it fitted would rpove difficult. I live in Scotland by the way.

I would prefer a swimming pool . A hot tub would be nice but you can't go swimming in it and it would be nice to be able to take the children out when it was hot in the summer to cool them off a bit and to get them to have some exercise in the pool . We have always wanted a pool , so a few years ago we went out and got one of the medium sized one's . If you are an adult you can't go swimming in them but for children they are great as there is enough room for them to go swimming in but I would love one that was big enough for all of us to be able to get in .

Pools are a lot of upkeep for what would be (for me) infrequent use. So I'd have to pick the hot tub. I'd be in that baby every night. But like another poster said, a real sized one, not a dinky one that's basically a bathtub with some jets. :)

I have a pool in my back yard. It's great having a pool to swim in when it is hot. The down side of a pool is, they are a lot of work. I still choose a pool.

Outside hot-tubs I find quite enjoyable, so I'd probably go for a hot-tub I'd say. Although it should be one of a decent size, not one of those miniature hot-tubs in which you can barely sit with 2 people.

I would rather have a large pool, but only if I could have it in a building of some kind so I could use it year-round. Otherwise, it would be just too much trouble.
