who give star and what does it mean?

a friend of mine asked me to join here 3months so i registered but didnt bother to look at this site anymore. one day a friend of mine asked me again to come look mylot which reminds me that i already have one. so i did looked at it and now here i am actively participating in discussions and having my own also. i was only active for about a week and there lots of question i wanna know about mylot. one time when i was typing a reply, i saw a star in my name. i wonder, who gives star and what does it mean? can anybody help me...thanks. takecare

The star in you name appears when you reached your 100 post. The number inside it is your rating. Rating depends on the quality of discussions and replies you have. It is also affected by how other members rate you. If you put your cursor on it you will see a number like 89/100. It means 89 people gives you a plus rating out of 100. So it's good always to give a plus rating for each other unless you really don't like his/her opinions or what he/she responded to you or anywhere else discussion.
