Great American "GAS OUT"

I got this in my e-mail today, pass it along! In April, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. It was most effective and gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight. Please encourage all of your family and friends to boycott the gas stations on Tuesday, May 15th in protest to high gas prices. There are 73,000,000+ American's currently on the internet and the average car takes about $30-$50 to fill up. If we all stick together, it would take $2,292,000,000 (almost 2.3 billion dollars) out of the oil companies' pockets in just one day! Let's make ourselves heard!

I can see what you mean. However all this is going to do is increase sales on the day before and after. We still need gas and will still buy it. So actually they lose nothing unless everyone chose to ride a bike for a week. Otherwise it is a waste of time.

Even though we will buy gas the day before or the day after, it will still make a point! But I like your idea to pledge to walk, ride a bike or bus and carpool more to save gas and money! I personally, have given up some trips to the store to save gas and my wife says keeping me out of the stores saves us money! :)

If the government made hybrid vehicles affordable I would buy one. I don't care what the dealer says about no one wants a hybrid. LOL. That is a crock. I do and I am sure that there are several others who feel the same. I will not spend $40,000 for a hybrid when I can get a new car for $10,000. I think they have a lot of regular gas engines that they have to sell before they can drop the hybrid price. That is why they are so expensive. What they should be thinking about is their grandchildren not having a planet. If global warming continues money will be the least of their concerns. If I could ride a bike I would but I own a landscaping company so it makes it harder to go without gas.
