Steven Jackson ejection vs. Jason Terry Technical...

If you watched game 5 in Dallas last night you'll know what I'm rambling about. I couldn't believe that Jason Terry got away with throwing BD to the ground! The Warriors leader for christ sakes! He got a technical foul, whoopty-do! How was that not an automatic ejection?!? Then for some reason Stephen Jackson gets instantly ejected for clapping at the end of the game... I know Jackson doesn't have a good track record, but on the other hand Terry isn't exactly "character" guy either. Maybe it's a pointless argument, but the league could easily suspend Jackson for a game. Ultimately, the league could throw a solid punch for the Mavs and they would much rather see them win this series...

a lot of the mavericks players are not so good losers. we remember jerry stackhouse giving joe johnson a very hard foul during the 2005 playoffs series against the phoenix suns while jason terry on the other hand had a bunch of incidents as well. thats actually one thing i really dont like about the mavericks, when they're frustrated, they blame it on the other team. mark cuban's dismal demeanor reflects on his team. i wont be surprised if either team wins the series. if the warriors will take the series, its obvious, the mavericks are no match for them. if the mavericks win the series, bad character will win it for them. anyway, they won't stand a chance against either phoenix or san antonio. they're only good in the regualr season, the playoffs is a different stage. they have the skill, but they dont have the heart.

I fully agree... Doesn't it seem like the calls were one sided? It's ridiculous how much the NBA changes the way it calls things from play to play! If the league suspends Jackson, and doesn't suspend Terry, I smell a conspiracy!

I just thought about this now: don't you think the officials might just be more responsive to the Golden State Warriors given that they're the more emotional team? The Dallas Mavericks can't compare to the emotions this Warriors team are showing, since Golden State has a lot more to be frustrated, to celebrate, and in general, to be emotional about. So when you're emotional, you have the tendency to get more attention from the referees, and as a result, more technical fouls for your players. Maybe this explains why they're getting a lot of calls this series? Dallas seems to be relatively more relaxed, calm, and calculating through the games.

I've got one for you... Steven Jackson, when ejected, had only one technical foul. It was his first... aren't you supposed to have two technical fouls when getting ejected? The only time you are supposed to eject someone is when there was an "egregious" violation? clapping his hands? wow... I'm a Warriors fan, but I don't want to see any ejections. I thought that Terry's T was deserved, but I didn't think an ejection was warranted. It is funny though, that Jackson gets sent off with 8 seconds left. The best part? Jackson got two early fouls in the first few minutes and didn't go off then. He even addressed it when spoke about it afterwards. I don't want to see any suspensions, or anything else... just "swallow the whistle" and let the players play.

Very good point! I also couldn't believe Jason Terry got away with throwing Baron Davis down while Stephen Jackson got thrown out for clapping. Was it homecourt advantage playing its role? It wasn't the first time this has happened. That other game when Davis and Jackson were ejected, I remember there were also a lot of odd calls against Golden State. In Game 5, you should also remember how Davis got his sixth foul: for touching Devin Harris on defense, I think. I don't think there should have been a foul there, especially when you're talking about a player as important as Baron Davis and on the verge of fouling out. They should have made a better judgment there. What's happening here? Are they afraid to make calls against Dallas just because they're expected to become the Western Conference champs, being the No. 1 seed and all? I remember some instances before when the referees seemed to be afraid of making calls on Michael Jordan because he's so good at the game he's getting the license to go overboard, but that's different. What we have now is a Warriors team who's beaten the odds, and is continuing to beat more odds to try and win over an excellent team (Mavericks). When you're the referee, how could you spoil those achievements just because of your bad judgment? Really disgusting.
