in the past we use 5.12 floppy inch disk with capability to storage 1.2 mb the High Density kind, then the 3.44 floppy disk with 1.4 mb and 2.8 mb( haven't see the 2.8 mb disc ), then we have CD-ROM / Compact Disc - Read Only Memory with 700 mb, after that we have smaller CDROM, flash disk with many range of storage start with 32 mb - 10 Gb and more, then we get DVD/digital versatile disc/digital video disc with 4.7 Gb storage. what do you think about the future. what kind of storage will the future bring? and add some more storage media if I forgot.

I think nowaday most company go for thumb drive or memory card design. All these device reduce cost and save our physical place to keep the device. Other than that, data become easier to bring along since the storage media size is keep increasing.

i still have no idea as to what storage the future may bring. wait 'til i finish my degree and i'll research and develop a new one! lol! I think there is blu ray disc already out, with a storage size of upto 30 or 50 times as large as DVD. It's implemented now in high definition devices! There's a player for it now out in the market which also plays DVDs and other earlier CDs.
