How long can a person life with water alone?

are you wondering? I saw in the news a young girl life for about 17 days without food and survive. the girl is trap in a falling down supermarket in South Korean. poor girl, but she survive, she say that she think she only there for 5 days, but the true is she trapped there for 17 days. this is a miracle.
Well other fictional story tell about sadako, you know " the ring " from the japan movie, the one who will die after 7 day from watching the movie?, she live in the well for 7 days. I want to read the novel, they say this is a good novel.
If you get into the same situation, do you think you will survive?

I think so. Human body can live a big ammount of time without eating, can't it? Seventeen days is an incredible number. But I heard from a guy with almost 40 days without eating anything. I don't know if it's really true, I can't be sure. But I think it was. Imagine! It must look like an eternity.
Anyway, if I get trapped like that, I think I can survive. There must be a way to call someone!

I think you can survive up to 40 days on water alone. You can only go without water a maximum of 3 days though.
