I work in a restaurant where all the waitresses are racist. They'll wait on an African American family, then come to the kitchen and talk about how stupid and uneducated they are. Or they'll constantly accuse the people that work in the kitchen of being "dirty Mexicans that steal from the cash register", which makes little sense because almost everyone in the kitchen is an American citizen. They've all dropped out of high school, and I think a big part of their racism is their ignorance. They were raised to hate non-white people, and never thought to question that belief.

"They were raised to hate non-white people, and never thought to question that belief"-------that is exactly what I think has happened. But--------doesn't this cut both ways??? Why do so many non-white people assume because I am white that I am going to be racist??? And that does happen, probably not as much as the other way, but it does happen. I have heard people defend that with statements like "well, white people always treated my people badly" Not all white people are racist. Not all black people are basket ball players. Not all Hispanic men are 'Latin lovers' Not all french people are rude, or all middle eastern people terrorists, or, or, or, well the list goes on and on.

I think racists are narrow-minded people who still live in a fool's paradise and only hope that one day, they will get to wake up and understand life better.

I really do not understand how anyone can make judgements based on someones race. Oh, I know they do but I don't understand it. I usually try to make some sort of remark that lets them know I not only don't agree but that I think it is stupid. I think it is so dumb, here in South Texas, people look down on hispanic people, I keep saying, hey, they were here first.

I deal with racists all the time. I work on a switchboard and some people have the nerve to ask for a white driver. Usually these people are ignorant and don't even know anything about the countries our staff come from. I usually tell them it is against policy and hang up on them. Other times I try to educate them. It infuriates me tho. I think people are people no matter the colour of their skin or what part of the world they came from. Some people just suck, white, brown or yellow they are just bad people. I have found that once you get past the language barrier and communicate they are just people like you and me. Sometimes on the phone I will say that I am something other than my nationality just to make the racist feel like an idiot. It just makes my blood boil. There is enough problems in this world without racists spreading there lies.

If they are openly racist it is one thing, but if they proclaim not to be racist or discriminating and then in the same sentence be able to add a racist or discriminative remark it simply frustrates me. Like one time one said "I'm not racist or anything, but still I think we should be cautious on airports and check up Muslim people thoroughly". Like omg, how can you say it's not a racist or discriminating remark?
