Election-related violence

They seem to be increasing yet again. Just watched TV earlier and another candidate is shot in the head, in front of the local COMELEC office even. While on the early part of the election campaign both the COMELEC and the people felt that this election is safe, that this will be the most peaceful of all, but as the campaign period draws to a close, it would appear as if the days of silence was just violence picking up momentum. Now it seems like everyday we have politicians dying, receiving death threats, being attacked. What's bad is that some of them are being committed even on public places. Even Pacquiao is not safe! He claims Custodio is out to get him.

And I hope Custodio floors him in Congress. Having Pacquiao enter politics is a great disservice to the Philippines and Filipinos. And I blame Lito Atienza and the lady in the palace for this. They both orchestrated Pacquiao's political career to go against a popular yet oppositionist candidate. They are hoping that the people of GenSan are foolish and naive to fall for this ploy. I pity both Pacquiao and his city if he continues to become a congressman. He has to choose which one he will dominate. I wish he will choose the ring.

Too true. To get rid of a good and more deserving senator in favor of someone the palace can easily manipulate and be made a mascot... we all see that Pacquioa is but pulled by strings.
