Are the Democrats in trouble?

Are the Democrats in trouble now that Bush has vetoed their bill? They don't have the votes to override it, and if they make any compromises, they will loose the support of the ultra left wing. Since legislation must start in the Congress, isn't it up to the Democrats to get a bill that can be signed to the President before funding for our troops runs out?

I seriously doubt that the democrats will lose the support of the ultra left...those people are the libertarians. Most leberals are smart enough to see what the situation is and are willing to sit back and let the republicans continues to self destruct.

Hmm, I guess we will have to see if you are correct. I think the second the Democrats start compromising in order to get a bill the President will sign, the liberals are going to attack the Democrats and Pelosi will start loosing votes.

It's as if congress doesn't waste enough of my tax money. they spent weeks forming and debating a bill that they KNEW FOR A FACT would be vetoed. They did this only out of spite and pride. They felt as a new congress they had something to prove and wanted to shift the blame to bush for nmot funding the troups. It was such a transparent move that I cannot believe they owuld even have tried it. It seems now they are going to "comprimise" and put instead of a timelin e, a seriese of conditions in Iraq to the funding. DUH! Is this not what the republicans had said was what was needed all along?
