The summer season is passing here in my country with full boom temperature about 44 C. The old clothes, wrapped up for the last summer season are out again and I like to select some of those for the season going on. I feel it good to have some old stuff and then keeping view the need I will buy some new too. My wife is much keen to get new clothes everytime and I also advise her to go for shopping ;) How do you people do? Do you like to use the old clothes for coming season or buy new everytime? Is it just to taste new fashion or ?? Kindly share!

I keep most of the old stuff if it fits and is not ragged. My wife usually buys me new stuff especially for the summer. I do go shopping once in a while for clothes but it is not as important for me as it is my wife.

i don't dump my old clothes if i buy a new one.. usually.. i'll keep the old ones and wear it at home.. don't you think that's better? do you know how many people didn't get to wear clothes? the number of people don't have chance to wear clothes might even reach millions.. this always occur in the poor country.. and it's a common sight for all of us to see it on the television.. isn't that true? sometimes my mother ask me to keep my old clothes so i can donate it to others later on.. she say it's better to donate than to throw it away.. then it won't be wasted =)

Hmmm yes of course there are so many people who do not go for new clothes every time a season comes. This aspect refers that to buy new things is not only based upon the poverty ... I guess so. There are certainly other factors too. Thanks for your nice observation & response.

I am too cheap to go shopping every season, and I am not a fasion diva either, I try to buy things that will withstand the test of time, jean shorts, classis t-shirts and carpri's and I will wear those same clothes until they wear out. I do not have the money to go buy new all the time and I really do not like to either. The only person that gets new clothes on a regular business is my daughter , and that is because she keeps growing on me and has to get new or different clothes, we have some good resale shops around here where you can get things really cheap. I find alot of good clothes there for her that are up to date and still look new. I love to find a bargin, garage sales and yard sales are also a life saver for us too.

You are not cheap, I guess so. Some people have habit to keep the things in use due to some personal affiliation sometimes. You love your daughter and like to see her in new clothes everytime ... this is your loving trait! Well, I wish you to become "RICH" sooner! ;) Thanks for response.

I'll keep wearing the same clothes till they wear out and ready for the rag bag b4 I buy new unless there happens to be a really good sale on some clothes I like. Then I'll buy some new clothes and pack em away till I'm ready for em.

While most people enjoy buying something new now and then....I do not see the necessity to buy a whole new wardrobe with each passing season...unless, of course, you have outgrown them.... I have some favorite articles of clothing that I have had since I was in college...not many...but a couples of jeans that I just could not give up....gosh, that was 15 yrs ago.....I still wear them when we go riding or camping...they are very comfortable and broken in. Fashion runs in great big circles, it seems to me, it comes and goes; in and out, about every 15-20 yrs......many of the things I wore in high school are being sold in "retro" shops.

Yes, surely it is not even affordable at all to buy many clothes. Nice to see that you observe the fasion cycle. Yes, it takes 5-10 years here to come the fashion again! Thanks for response.

Hello, aliasad, I am into fashion very much I guess. I buy at least 4-5 new clothes every season.Well, I just want to stop this time. The reason is I am kinda short of money these days, and at the same time I realized that the old clothes are still comfortable to wear, I can save some money!

I have clothes in my closet that I've had for a few years. I just can't make myself get rid of them until they are either falling apart, or they don't fit. But I also love to go shopping for a few new outfits each year when summer comes around. It just feels so good to be wearing fresh new clothes sometimes.

I usually keep some stuff from the year before, then shop to get the new stuff that is out. I like to watch for the sales so I can get more. Like right now they are having a lot of sales for Mother's day. So tomorrow since I have the day off, I am going out to get a few things. I have never had more than one closet full of my clothes. I haven't ever bought myself that much each year. I think that is why my husband never gets upset when I go shopping. I don't collect shoes, purses, or clothes. It is easier for me to keep a small wardrobe because if I had too many things to choose from I would take forever to get ready. LOL

I only buy new clothes when I absolutely need them. Each year I bring out the last years clothes for that season and see what is still wearable. Sometimes they don't fit! [I'll let you guess if they are too big or too small. :-)] Sometimes they are too worn or have stains, then I put them in the "work clothes" category and only wear them around home when it doesn't matter how I look. Sometimes I have to buy clothes if we go traveling and I don't have enough "presentable" clothes for the trip. I really don't enjoy shopping for myself. I seldom find something I really like for a price I can afford. Now that I'm retired I have limited income and do much less shopping than I used to. I love to shop with someone elses money, though! I used to shop for folks who couldn't do their own shopping and REALLY enjoyed doing it.

The answer is "you got bulky each year lol" :) Just kidding! Hummm work clothes. A nice idea for everyone. Yes, sometimes it becomes necessary to go for new clothes due to the fact that you have to rush for some important gathering or sometimes for sort of interview ;) Thanks for your nice words here. Happy posting .. Aliasad

It's too expensive to buy new clothes every season, and I think it is very wasteful. There is nothing wrong with last year's clothes. I tend to buy clothes in a more classic and timeless style, so I can wear them for YEARS, and I don't get rid of clothes until I wear them out.

Yes, I wear my old clothes, but I will add a few new ones each time. For example, I have many shirts that are about 5 to 10 years old, but every year I always add a few more shirts. I try to donate a few shirts or whatever each year. I have some shirts that are very old, the collar is messing up so I will donate those shirts. I cannot afford to buy new clothes each summer and winter. It costs too much money, and the clothes I have I love a lot. If I didn't I definitely wouldn't be keeping them winter after winter. So, I agree with you to keep your old clothes :) Pablo

I just wear whatever I have unless I really need something new and then I will go buy it. I guess being older, I just don't care about the latest fashion crazes anymore. I am all about being comfortable, in good condition and clean. If something is seriously out of date or really worn out, I will replace it. Luckily, I only buy solid color items so they are almost always ok, year after year. I don't like things with designs on them. The old stand by of jeans and t-shirt are always in fashion. I wear alot of jeans or shorts with t-shirts in the summer.

I don't buy new clothes very often. I get attached to my clothes and even if I buy new clothes I still wear my old ones from time to time.

I usually wear the same stuuf I have, I am not a fashionista person, I sometimes like to buy something tht really like or need for example a shirt, news underwear, IK hate to buy stuff that really don´´t need, I guese we men are in this case different from most women that like to buy stuff they even don´t wear later.
3 May 07
I can't really afford to go out and buy a lot of new clothes right now, but the clothes I have are more than adequate for now. I have things I bought last summer which are cool and comfortable for the hot weather, I don't care much for fashion so what I have will do me for now

i prefer to keep my old clothes and wear them for as long as they are serviceable. it has become a habit of mine to save expenses on clothes. for me, it is an unnecessary expense if the old ones i have are still usable.

I usualy clean out my closet once a season and get rid of things I no longer want or need and go shopping for a new wardrobe for the season.
