In todays world of terms like globalization, liberalization, equality, do you feel women are really treated as equal?

Women have been given equal opportunity in the developed parts of the world but however in many rural areas and underdeveloped parts of the world women do not have equal opportunity.

In globalisation world, women have also to play a major role in development likewise men. They are no way behind to men. In each field, women are ahead of men or hand in hand. Women have also proved themselves as important one to the society. From home management to office management, women are playing an important role. If we see the amount of work of a working woman, we find that woman works more than a man. She shoulders more responsibilities then man, even after this the thinking of society is different. Society always sees woman as weaken section, which is not at all true. Now the time has come to realise this.

Promod i agree with u. However why is a women ill treated, not given resopect, or not helped? A man should do it. even near and dear iones like mother, sister, wife, child are not spared by men. Women are not an object of showing anger and torture. A women does not do that to a man then why a man should do it.? Dont we men have heart?

No is the short answer! There are moves in Europe, North America and Australasia to bring about equality for women but there is a long way to go in practice, no matter what a law says. In most of the rest of the world, the woman knows her place and there is not a snowballs chance in hell of changing it. With cunning, a woman still has a lot to say in her own home but it is better for all concerned if her good ideas seem to be sourced by her husband! In many parts of Africa, where I lived for many years, the womans lot is a very poor one especially if she is barren or he 'fires blanks'.

upto some extend they have given the liberalization and equality to the women . Even I can say that women have proved that they are not less then a man. It's thier right to treat them equally as man. But in some houses those women who are still not aware of their right and those who don't have a guts to take a step against the faulty person. They are still bearing everything. But I feel the position of the women till date is far far better then earlier.

Well suman i think you r right. Indeed these problems prevail and also i agree that women are in a better position today. But dont ufeel that we men are to be blamed totally for not understanding the feelings, emotions, pain and problems of a women. Instead of beating them, or filing divorces or killing them, cant we stand beside them and give them a chance to live in peace.?
