I have a cat that I think is very smart. He is an in-door out-door cat. If no one opens the door for him after he has meowed numerous times,he will go to my bedroom window and tap on it. It sounds just like someone(human) is tapping on it! Do you have a smart kitty?

My two cats think their smart, like yours they will sit at the back door and if noone opens that for them, they will climb up to the landing window and tap the glass and meow. One of them has also learnt that if he taps the keys in the back door we will let him outside, he sits at the door waiting to go out and if we don't see him or go straight away, he'll reach up and tap the keys so we'll hear him!!

Persistence can make a great difference... Kind of like this ~ Such cleverness...
It's pretty obvious that this poor cat just wants to go inside! That's a pretty loud knock!

My cat is farily clever/smart. She's very clever at getting us wrapped round her cute little fluffy paws, and getting her own way! She also seems to be able to open our front living room door unless we are careful to close it really tight shut! We don't know how she does it but she's escaped a few times now...

hello. Nice one. I also have a cat. She's more of an indoor cat. Before we were living in a flat on the top floow. We chose that place so I will have space for my cats to play and go with the sun. But before we go, we make sure that both of my cats are inside the room because it's very hot on days (we are in the middle east). One day, my husband decided to allow my cats to go out at 4am. So they can play and enjoy without the sun. Then he went back to sleep. As I wake up around 8:00 (sun was already high like almost 11am already compare to Philippines), I glanced a cat sitting on outside our bathroom window looking inside (she's getting difficulties staring at a smoked glass). Then I notice that it was my favorite cat (qiana). She is meowing loud and louder when she glanced at me. Then I woke up my husband and asked him "Where are the cats" and suddenly he wake up so fast and told me that he forgot them outside. It was so hot outside. Then when I knocked the glass and told her to come to the other window, she followed. And when she saw my husband she was like saying "why you locked me out, it's so hot outside"...the way she meow...so funny, with her stare like she's really angry. She's so smart because she knows that either me or my husband will go to the shower in the morning and somebody will see her outside. She's on the sun for I don't know how many hours but she sacrifices so somebody can see them. The other cat is hiding under a shed but my cat stood there on the bathroom window. She's also smart.

I think that all the cats are very smart. I have a cat, an in-door one. I think that my cat is very smart too because : - he knows to play hide & seek :). Many times when my brother was hiding of me, my cat was finding him. - he knows how to attract our attention on him. When he want to pet him he meowing loud until we pet him or he lays on the keyboard , on the book or anything else that we use in that moment.

guess most cats are smart. with my cat, since he did not grow with us i mean we got him maybe on his 5th month old. he maybe used of taking breakfast as early as between 4:30 to 5:30am. on his first two weeks, he always meow aloud that wake us up just to let us give him something to eat. then i got irritated i shouted at him and he got scared. after that he knows that it irritates me, he will go to my wife's side on the bed then there he meow but on a very soft tone and disturb only my wife to give him food.

Nice stories guys! Very smart cats. Mine figured out how to open the treat containers, and I've tried several! Now I have to hide them.

cats are very smart and independent, I think that they are more intelligent than many dogs, mine likes to get my attention by meooowwing loud or just jumping to my lap.
