When you stay at a hotel do you always wind up taking the small items that they give you free to use there, home? and how about the ashtray as souveniers? I always take the little soaps and lotions and shampoos with me sometimes the ashtrays. Whats your story? Tell us we want to hear it..

Yes I always take the little soaps, lotions an shampoos. I like the small size for when I travel again they are easy to pack and use up little space in my suitcase. I use these products when I stay with friends for a couple of days. Sometimes I have also taken a pen but never a towel an ashtry or anything else.

Of course I take the lotions, shampoos and conditioners home with me. I'm sure not going to leave them behind when I've already opened them. The soaps I only take home if they haven't yet been opened. Then we can use them for trips to visit relatives in their homes or even if we run out of something at home. I've never taken an ashtray home as a "souvenir", and I'm a smoker. I also leave the towels and washcloths there. LOL.

I used to take the little soaps. But then when I traveled, I would travel with my own soap and stuff so I never needed to take it. I can say that I have never taken the ashtrays. Or any Bibles. But here is a funny story for ya. My sister and I were traveling cross country with my six kids. She drove the Uhaul truck and I a rental car. Well, we pulled into a hotel and she went under a overhang. No problem...we thought. But the next morning, we woke up on the second story and found a bit of broken plaster from that overhang on the top of the truck. Oops!!!! The hotel then called to say that I owed 100 bucks for the repairs. I went to look at the damage...and it actually was barely noticeable. And isn't that what insurance is for??? But I did not want to argue with them and them charge a credit card that was held for the room. So, I paid them a 100 bucks in cash. Half the cash I had in my pocket to make the rest of the trip with! Ouch! Well, my sister remembered that I loved the comforter and commented that we should take it as part of that money they made me over pay. But I just couldn't do something like that. However, my sister did it anyways when my back was turned. And...I ended up at our destination with a great laugh and an inexpensive comforter that cost me a lot of money. LOL

just like my daughter, we have sensitive skin so I tend to bring our own soap & lotion for our use during our stay in the hotel. Since we would not be using it anyway, i don't bring the toiletries with me but sometimes, when it really has great packaging, or really smells good, I would bring it if I have someone to give it to that would be able to use it

I don't see many ashtrays in hotels/motels anymore. But yes I do always take the little soaps lotions and shamppos. they are great to use when camping or traveling to visit family and friends and stay at their home instead of a motel.

Always! *laughs* I rarely ever use them, but for some reason I always bring them home with me. The ashtrays really aren't popular anymore, but if the hotel had one I would probably take it. *laughs*
