Pogo chatters are among some of the nastiest people I have ever known!

After the experience I had yesterday while chatting in Hog Heaven Slots in Pogo, I STRONGLY recommend not chatting in Pogo.com. Once the entire room decided to gang up on me, accuse me of all kinds of nasty stuff, and slam me around. So, I changed rooms, and there a few other chatters did the same thing. Needless to say, I made very good use of the MUTE option, but wow, do people have to be so unkind and rude? I am very hesitant to chat in Pogo ever again, and I strongly urge others to use extreme caution while chatting in Pogo. Consider me from now on a non-chatter in Pogo. I just want to play the games there from now on, and that's that. Heck with chatting.

I have made some very good friends in pogo over the years.but I have seen a lot of argueing going on also I dont usually say to much in a room unless my friends are there I read the chat but I dont input anything unless it is a general chat. Im not sure why people have to be that way it sure ruins thing for people who just come in to play and relax. Im not sure why the whole room would gang up on you unless you said something to offend someone.

I have mulitple disabiities and can't work, and therefore am on disability checks, and yet I play Pogo games, and some people take that to automatically mean that I am a system abuser. Um...yes...I have a computer and am online. That does NOT make me a system abuser! I really hate the section of the profile that basically asks what I do for a living. I ended up putting in that I can't work due to migraines. I tried leaving that blank, but then people kept asking me again and again what I do for a living. It seems that some people are really hostile to those who are poor and have disabilities. If I could work, I sure would. And, frankly, I am sick of it. Life's too short for such treatment. After such a nasty online experience, my back started hurting terribly from my fibromyalgia, and I ended up going to bed with a backache. Hence, I strongly recommend not chatting in Pogo.

On your profile when it asks what you do, just say "No comment." and leave it at that. It's none of anybody's business what you do.

There are lots of people in the internet specially in the chatt rooms so its our responsibility to do more cautions in everything we do in the net specially in protecting our morality and privacy.

Yeah, I fully agree! There are some chatters there who will take anything they find on your profile, or anything you write, and use it, even if it is taken out of context, to start trouble. I'm not saying that ALL Pogo chatters are really nasty, but enough are that I have turned off my chat option in that Web site.

I have been playing there for some time. I don't even use the chat. I suppose that's because it's a game site not a chat room. I just play the games.

I have never chatted with anyone in a main room. I have had some people "chat" when playing versus games like Jungle Gin or Canasta, etc. I always feel like it would be strange to just "jump in" and start chatting with people who are already chatting. i don't think I'd do well in a real chat room either..lol

very true. I always see people chatting and complaining they can't get a badge, etc or they are doing bad. I think "well if you just stop talking, maybe you'll do better" LOL

Maybe they should have a Chatting Badge with a goal of 10,000 words in one week?

Yeah. Game chat rooms are practically a recipe for disaster. Besides, how can you really focus well on games like chess and checkers if you chat? You might miss a crucial move. lol

There are times when I don't want to chat either in pogo.com and I just don't say anything. Then there are days when I will get in on some talk, never any negative talk. Mainly it is wtg or gg, things like that and talk about the game in general. I too have seen people bad talk others. I am not the type of person to bad talk anyone. I too have met very nice people while playing games. On the profile, why not just put Homemaker. It is not anyone's business if your are on disability, unemployed, a millionaire or what ever. I will continue to use my own judgement if I want to talk to whomever or whenever. Do like my husband does, he just turns the chat off. Have a good day.

I have given up on chatting in Pogo, because it seemed that no matter what I would put in my profile, or even if I didn't put anything in there, always someone would come into the chat room and stir up trouble. My chat is turned off now, and permanently.

I've run into the same thing. Its sad, it didn't used to be that way. Pogo seems to be full of bitter people now who like to cause trouble. I belong to a league and a lot of people in pogo have problems with leagues. One room in dice city rollers they were so mean to the host of the tournament they made her cry. I don't see why they hate tournaments so much...the only thing we do is use the chat area, but we don't keep other people from chatting. I think some leagues do and that makes us nice leagues look bad. I don't chat in rooms either.

I've been a member at Pogo for about 8 years, I've seen people get really nasty with others. It seems that most of the time that when trouble starts, its a kid coming into a room and being a general pain in the butt. When a group attacks a person, there is usually some reason behind it.( I'm not saying the reason is valid ) SOMETHING prompted these people to do this. Are you friends and/or known by the people in this room ? Have you had issues with them before ? Did you state your opinion on something that they didn't agreee with ? The basic group mentality doesn't just pick a person at random and begin bashing them in my experience.
