This has been possible in India.Being a populated country, sufficient cop should be in the field to look after incidents. These people does not even have that courtesy to inform or help the person hit by them even if they are seriously injured..they just escape from the scene without humanity. Lack of policemen, drivers easily knock down some one on road and run.In India the state Government have to recruit more policemen to avoid this kind of accidents.

very true, also the pavements should be clean so that people can walk freely without any problems ,this would eliminate the need to walk on roads so that there will be no scope for any hit and run cases

Yes you are right! Since the country is much populated we dont find enough Policemen to look after the traffic or accidents. The main culprits of these will be the heavy vehicles like the lorry and the Transport buses. They drive so fast and are not bothered of others. They expect other people to move aside when their vehicles moves on the road. If they find someone on the centre of they road, then they just hit him up and escape from the spot. An urgent measure has to be taken!
