TV Drama has general theme, money & richness?

I found many TV Drama that were about love and romance but there always money and richness issues involves. The rich boy is in love with the poor girl, vice versa. The rich in laws disagree. Sometimes there are some murders involved, but it looks like as if it was all about the money (material) versus love (affection). What are the producers trying to say or prove? There are many poor people out there watching such dramas and I think thiis kind of dramas might make these people got the wrong information about the rich people. How money will you have so much power to do everything you want . . . etc. What a materialistic world life is.
