Bred to be Ratters?

Miniature Schnauzers were originally bred to hunt and kill vermin... rats, mice, you name it. I don't believe that instinct is still intact in my boys any longer. My 5 year old Miniature Schnauzer, Sidy Boy is pure attitude. He will beat up on any dog he can- I had a 140 pound Rottweiler mix that Sidy picked on, and now I have a Weimaraner, and Sidy has chased the Weim and pinned him up against my fence- to the point I had to go rescue the Weim... But... when my little tough guy saw a mouse... you wouldn't believe his reaction. He ran to the bathroom, and was shaking he was so scared! It took me 30 minutes just to calm him down.. all from seeing a mouse- the very thing the breed was originally bred to kill!
