Should We Be Blaming God?

Recently in a debate with a number of devoted religious people, from different religions, one question was asked that stumped the panel. I apologize if this exact question and wording has been posted here before. Should we be blaming God for not shielding us and keeping us safe from natural disasters and accidents for example, Hurricanes, Floods, Plane Crashes, Earthquakes and 911 etc?

This stuff is not directly from God so we can't blame Him. I think that when God created the earth, all those natural disasters came with it. That's just what they are: natural. God doesn't go around saying, "I think I'm going to cause a hurricane today and kill tons of people." It's just what happens. Yes, God can control whatever He wants, but I don't see Him causing these things on purpose. Plane crashes and people dying and such. This is just a part of life. God does not try to hurt you. I believe in providence and coincedences. Sometimes things happen because of God and sometimes they just happen.

See, God gives us the choice to make decisions like that. You don't have to blame God, but many people do. I believe in God and I too believe that God allows things to happen for a reason. One reason might be to show people that he is real. Another reason might be that he just wants us to turn to him and worship him. The one thing that I've accepted is.... God is the creator and whatever he wants to do with our lives, we have no control over it. He's God and he can do as he pleases. So I guess my point is you have the choice to blame him or not.

I know a lot of people that will say that everything is from god, "it's the got wish". I think that if you bealive that there is a god, and he is the one who built our wonderful world and, you can "blame" god. About accidents that the man is responsible for, such a car accident, the only one you can blame is a humen been, someone must be responsible, and I don't think it's god!

We should not blame God. We could blame the world, flesh, and the devil. God is not the author of evil. Satan is, and when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they gave control to Satan. It is not right for God to shield us from disasters, etc. when one's heart plans to do something not very nice. And God does have a purpose. He may take someone from this earth because if He did not, something horrible might happen to them that is worse. He may want people to realize the extent of evil --like in 911 --I suppose some Americans were saying, "Oh those Moslems are nice peaceful like people. They are very tolerant and would not harm us," but after 911, they realized that was not true.

No, I don't think we should. He has a reason for everything He does and allows even though we may not know what it is right now.
