Why can't Peter go back in time?

Peter has each and every power of everyone he met, he should have the full powers of Hiro, Plus the powers of the Haitian and the mind reader (forgot his name).
How is it that he can't do all those things?
You might suggest that he's new at this and he can't control all his powers but come on, you saw how he used Telekinesis and the Radiation, he knew what he was doing, and it has been 5 years so... what's the deal?
p.s.
I really loved the short battle scene with Peter and Sylar, it was awesome, especially at the beginning when Sylar revealed himself.

I think because Peter not smart enough so he can't use all his abilitis. Let's think it if Peter smart why he don't take Haitian ability. So with Haitian ability he makes Sylar can,t do anything and just killed him. But if the story like this I think it would not interesting...

The Haitian stops all abilities. He can't take the Haitian ability because the Haitian is already blocking his power to copy other people's power.

Well we have seen that hiro himself is not fully comfortable with his powers until he gets that sword which gives him nothing but self confidence to use his powers.With peter having so many powers it must be really tough for him to use it to his full advantage,Also really good point made about peter's scar!!

i think perhaps Peter DOES have their powers but hasnt realized it yet? or had need of them yet? didnt he meet them BEFORE he realized that he absorbs powers?
or did i get my timeline confused?
also thats a good point about Peters scar...why didnt that heal???
i liked the whole "5years ahead" show that they did but it really was just a "space filler" i think. since Hiro was able to go back to "his" time everything that happened in the future episode is moot.

i think that to go back in time peter need hiro's sword. without it he can't control the power. at best he could stop time and teleport. even with the sword hiro need time to use it. i believe that future peter doesn't really care about the past that he desperately want to change it.

The sword doesn't do anything. Hiro needed it because he belive he needed it. Didn't you see that epsiode in las vegas where he stopped the bullet? He didnt' have a clue that he still go the power. He believed that he lost his power so he went to look for the sword. The sword is a way for Hiro to believe in himself.
He lost his powers because he felt miserable for not being able to save Charlie.

I am too was amazed with the battle scene between those two characters but it made me disappointment that it was only quite a short scene and seems that they hide it.
As for your question, maybe Peter can't do such thing and it was only Hiro can go back time. We don't have any explanations yet since the director jump-on 5 years in the future. We didn't even know why Peter got a scar on his face.

Hiro is determined to change the past. Peter wasn't as determined. I suppose he can go back in time if he wanted to, but what can he change? He can only inform. As we have seen, you can't change the past.
Hiro tried to save Charlie after he had seen her die. Because he saw her die already, he can't save her. He can only change the way she is to die.
