May bank holiday

I just wanted to let you know that I'll be off an on this weekend. I am doing our Scouts District Camp but am just going as a Day Visitor. It should be alot of fun and am looking forward to it! Enjoy your May Bank Holiday weekend everyone! xx

Hope you have a splendid time! What does your May Bank Holiday celebrate? We have a holiday in the States near the end of May which we call Memorial Day. It is to remember all those persons who have lost their lives in the service of their country. It is sometimes called Decoration Day because people decorate their loved ones' graves with spring flowers.

Glad you're doing well and resting :) Today was absolutely brill! I have even gotten a wee sunburn though the sun didn't come out till late this afternoon. Don't worry, I did have sunscreen on as I am quite fair and redhead so I stayed protected :D Am looking forward to going back tomorrow :D xx

There are so many members on MyLot that I have only just found your discussions. I feel like we could be twins. It is good to know that some people are still willing to give time to help with Scouts and that they are able to have camps with all the red tape around these days. I used to help run a cub pack when I was 21. It is where I met my husband. My son went to cubs. My daughter to brownies. My parents were very involved with scouts when I was growing up. I have not been able to do anything connected with the movement recently.
