Blind Dates

Have you ever been on one? was it set up by friends or a service? was it successful? did you remain friends or date for a while afterwards? Maybe you even married? My mother told me a story of her blind date when she was 19. The guy was kind of creepy - and he took her to a barge and asked her "what would happen if I threw you in" mom knew he might just do it! so she remained calm and said - aw, probably nothing, haven't you read about me in the paper? I am practicing to swim the English Channel.... then she said something about her friends were supposed to be meeting her about this time and they would be getting awful worried if she did not show up, and would call the police and be looking every where for her. I do not advocate lieing, but I think it is cool how she kept her self calm and collected. She was a fast thinker and that may well have saved her life.
