Christmas Holiday

I know Christmas is not for a while yet but it is my favorite holiday of the year. I was just wondering if you have any special traditions that you and your family enjoy doing during the Christmas holidays? We usually eat supper with my mother and her friend that she has been dating for some time now on Christmas Eve or as close to that time as possible. After we get home I let my children go ahead and open what gifts my husband and I have given them. Then on Christmas morning we usually sleep in then I'll fix us a good breakfast. Later on that day we will go to my mother-in-law's house and open gifts there. Usually two or three of her other kids and their families are there and we all open gifts together. I love Christmas and getting to be together with family and friends.:)

That sounds very nice. We usually get woken up early by our kids because of course they want to open what Santa brought them. One year my girls got new bedding for Christmas with nice and cozy pillows along the sides. Neither one woke up when we changed their bedding in the middle of the night. I didn't expect my oldest, who was five at the time to come screaming into our room totally scared because her surroundings had changed. Sometimes we spend Christmas at our in-laws where the kids have to wait and wait and wait until they wake up, have coffee, and some breakfast, before they can open presents. Sometimes we have to wait for one or two of my MILs sisters to come over, too. Poor kids... it's so hard to wait with the big bounty of presents right in front of you;)
