Would you be for or agains this and why ? Do you beleive that this would help reduce the number of accidents or do you believe this would just be a waste of time and money to put into effect ?

I feel instead of putting camera in all the places it is better to ask the automobile industry to produce cars that have a maximum speed limit of 90 miles per hour. The highest speed limit in US is 75mph people are allowed 15mph above the high speed limit so 75 being the highest the maximum one can drive in would be 90mph. So why not formulate a legislation that lays down the law for all automakers to produce cars that can run not more than 90mph. Would it not be easier this way? If all cars came with a speed limit of 90 there would not be many speeding incidents or accidents. When all of us know speed kills why allow cars to have a speedometer that goes to 200mph. We are not allowed to go in that speed except save on a racetrack or at Autobahn (since autobahn is not is US we can rule that out )and I am sure automakers anyway make special cars for racetracks! When the law does not allow you to cross 100mph ( you are supposed to be handcuffed and booked if the speedometer crosses 100) why should a automaker produce cars that can reach speeds above 100 is beyond me.... Maybe some intelligent person will ask the lawmakers to change the rules to keep people safer, but since the government earns from giving out all those speeding tickets I don't see such a law ever seeing the light of the day. So people will keep dying in vain everyday till they don't learn to drive safely... Thanks for asking

Cameras are good for deterrent purposes but they do not really solve the speeding problems. Drivers need to be educated to make them understand the consequences of speeding and that is the most difficult thing to do. Most drivers would only slow down when the spot a traffic camera or a traffic policeman or a traffic police car by the road side and then once they passed that point, they would resume speeding.

I would love to see cameras set up to catch speeders but I am not sure if the cameras would be able to keep up with all the people that speed these days. The cameras probably would burn out real quickly. They already have cameras here set up for catching people who run red lights but that probably does not happen as often as people speeding. I do not think our state would put up cameras for speeders because of the amount of speeding going on. It would cost a lot of money I am sure to do that.

LOL I have a friend who used to travel cross country from their home in West Virginia to their sons home in California. They just drove too fast. They would laugh that the cops couldnt catch them. LOL Well one day they got a letter in the mail. LOL they had been caught speeding by a camera. They were not happy. LOL It think that the laws are there to protect us. We must obey them. I know we too speed from time to time but it is stil wrong. I think catching speeders by camera is just fine. The speed limit is to be followed whether there is a tropper parked ahead or not.

I think it would just be a waste of time, They wouldnt have enought time to go around and give everyone a ticket that they had on camera that was speeding, and it would cost a lot of money to do that.

Hello, samtaylorskykierajen,I think it is very useful in reducing the numbers of traffic accidents on the roads. The police does not need to set up the real cameras in fact, it can just send a message to the public that there will be may be many hidden cameras in particular suburbs, and drivers will be more cautious and slow down when driving. Of course, if they will slow down if they see the real speed cameras on the roads. Statistics have shown the usefulness of speed cameras and not much money is required but they are effective.
