Warning: Gross topic

What names does your culture use for Gross Things? Picking up on the threads of a good friend , let's have a fun game. For some people who might think this "gross and disgusting", kindly refrain from responding. Boogers, snot, poop, doo doo - I tend to view these as part of human nature and feel it quite normal to wonder on the hows and whys and whats. In your own language, what is the other name for "boogers" etc? Is there another name you call it by to make it sound "ungross and undisgusting"? ;) In our local dialect, we call it "kugang". I know! What a word! How about you? Thanks. Good day!

Well maybe sinus drainage, or just drainage. That is what my doctor says. It sounds nicer, but it is all the same no matter the name. A poo-poo by any other name will smell just as rank!

hahaha well said tammyr, hello. I like the sound of that, sinus drainage. Sounds scientific enough to be used anywhere ;) I'll try how it sounds to my nephew when I say: "Stop picking on your sinus drainage!" hmmm. Thanks and have a great day!

hello mummymo! I love hearing your laughter so early in the morning (my time). Makes me feel happy to know you are enjoying this. Children do have the most interesting words. My niece calls it nose dirt. ;) Thanks and have a lovely day with plenty of rest now!

WoW NICE ONE!! here goes: Funny enough starting with Boogers, in my native tongue, Afrikaans, "snot" is very often used! And if someone, has a runny nose, especially a small child with a cold, we would refer to it as " nommer elf's" translating direct to English: a number eleven! running down his nose. ha ha ha Poop is "kak" or "poeppoes" This was a lovely disgusting discussion:))) hie hie I answered it straight from my mail box, so now I'm going to see what the others had to say, see you there! and wipe that "kugang" of your hand! We are going to get crucified! lol!

I love it that you love discussing disgusting "Afrikaans" with me hehehe. Cheers to the original discussion starter on "kugang", Transdisc ;)

Sinal mucus - as in mucus from the sinus. You could refer to snot coming out of your nose as 'sinal fluid discharge' if you wanted to sound scientific, I guess, but snot sounds better to me.

lol, I might start referring to it as SFD now just to confuse people - they won't have any idea what I'm talking about (no change there then).

Oh you are too funny for my own good. You are mixing with the wrong people then if they get confused whenever you say something. . . don't let their state of confusion and most probably confused SFD, hahaha, bother you

HI MarkyB21! "Sinal fluid discharge"? Hmmmm right, snots does sound dandy. Although a shortened version sounds nice, SFD might do hehehe. Glad you could drop in. Thanks

LOL - there are some wonderful expressions available in the world. One of my favourites is snot, and dried snot is green cornflakes.
