Do you cover every food you place in your fridge and in your microwave?

Before i never do that, i just place the leftovers inside the refrigerator and when i heat it up i do the same withour placing any cover. However i recently learned that uncovered food affects the life span of your fridge at the same time the quality of food. If you observe leftover food once inside the fridge for an overnight turned out to be dry the next day. The same with heating them without cover, after heating the food also becomes dry. My mom told me that i should keep the leftover in containers with covers and also during the time im going to heat them. In this way it preserves the freshness of the food. I did as she told me, and it was indeeed TRUE. How about you? do you keep your leftovers uncovered or covered?

I cover everything since I'm prone to spilling and/or dropping things... a lid helps to avoid a big mess lol. Things do dry out in the fridge if left uncovered- also foods can pick up odd smells/tastes from other foods too... it can get pretty nasty lol
