an insurance policy offers much more than just tax planning and investment returns. It offers you the ability to plan for unforeseen events that could affect your family's financial profile adversely. in today's perspective, i feel, health insurance is a MUST for everyone and anyone. my father had angioplasty done a few years back and we couldn't have done without medical insurance. thank God that he had sufficienct coverage which covered the whole hospital bill, which, would otherwise swept us of our feet. share your views. thank you al.

Yes a very important point made. Medical insurance is very important now a days and it helps you in emergencies. Like you, two years ago...My father had to undergo for hip joint replacement, just two months before he was admitted to hospital, my brother, who works in foreign bank, had got our parents name included in the list of beneficiaries for medical insurance. So when the actual surgery took place...we were very relieved in terms of financial matters...because we knew that we did not have to pay the huge bills...while came around Rs.2 lakhs. Had it not been...we would have paid the bills ourselves and under our nose...and that would have been more troublesome. deepak

Here in the UK you only need Health Insurance if you want to go privat as we are covered by the NHS so our treatment is free we just pay for the Prescriptions

We have insurance on our home and on our vehicles. That is enough where we live. We only have to pay about $250 a year for doctor apointments, necessary medications prescribed by doctors, and hospital apointments, operations etc. The rest is automatically payed for by the state. health insurance is not necessary for us. I am very happy with our system regarding this. It ensures everyone the same, and adeqate treatment

I totally agree with you. Having health and medical insurance in this hard times is the smart way to go. I have experienced it myself when I acquired amoebiasis. Bulk of the medical bills were shouldered by the insurance company. Thus making my medical treatment more affordable.
